PanoSalado introduction

PanoSalado is open source Flash based 360° panorama viewer. PanoSalado engine can show 360° cubes, cylinders, spheres, equirects and imported QTVRs. It is based atop a Papervision3D core, accessible to both Flash and Flex developers, and hugely extensible. It is not dependent on any commercial components, so it can be developed with use of free tools such as FlashDevelop + Flex SDK. It is easy to configure and fun to use.

PanoSalado application contains number of files, their dependencies are shown on the illustration below:

ModuleLoader.swf can be either embeded into *.html file, into Flex application, or used as standalone *.swf file. It aggregates other *.swf files as layers, one atop another. Those layers can be either part of core application (PanoSalado.swf) or they can be plugins/components that extend functionality of application (e.g. PanoSaladoLoadMeter.swf, Flex-based user interface, extensions provided by universalmap project). All information about location of applcation files (panorama images, *.swf files) are gathered inside *.xml configuration file. Its structure is described in detail in PanoSalado configuration.
