Extra/Add-on Plugins

Extras

Introduction

Extra/Add-on Plugins

Details

These are unsupported and experimental plugins.

They are part of the SVN download under the usp-extras directory. They are added to USP in the same way as standard plugins by adding them to the plugins list in gconf-editor or via Preferences. To enable access to these plugins can be done in 3 ways:

usp-extras folder needs read-write-execute permissions set for Others for first method to work.

The first method is preferable as any updates to the SVN will be automatically used when the SVN is updated.

Further Explanation of Option 1:
Open a Root Nautilus by pressing ALT + F2 and enter gksu nautilus in the box.
Click the [Run] button.
In this window navigate to <the-folder-you-downloaded-the-SVN>
Right click on 'usp-extras' folder and choose "Make Link" option.
A Link called 'Link to usp-extras' should appear.
Right click this link and choose "Rename" and call it "plugins"(without the quotes and all lowercase).
Right click again and change the permissions to allow for all users and groups for read, write and execute.
Then move this 'plugins' link to '/home/<username>/.usp' folder
Restart USP or gnome-panel and you should now have access to the extra plugins.
The advantage of this approach is that when the plugins are updated using ./usp_update update you will have access to the updated plugins without any further steps.

The plugins are listed separately on the Downloads page where they are also available for individual download.
