| Issue 357: | Add People Search Functionality to the API | |

Can you add the equivalent of the "Find on Twitter" functionality to the API? We are trying to build a service to increase Twitter viewership and followers through our third party app. So individuals would be looking for people to follow and be able to follow them through our app. A comprehensive search for people on Twitter is therefore needed. There would NOT be the ability to change a username or start an account, we are simply looking for a method to be able to search by username. So I am asking if you can translate the "Find on Twitter" functionality on the site to the API? Doug Williams tells me it would not be difficult at all to slap an API in front of this function, thank you for your time, Mike |

Being able to search for usernames by email address would also be very handy. Scenario: I know my friend has a Twitter account and I know their email address, I'd like my 3rd party app to automatically find their Twitter account (I say automatically because email is 1-to-1 whereas full name even when combined with location might return many results). |
