TWiT Live Desktop is an open source Adobe AIR application developed by Peter Elst of Project Cocoon and is released under an MIT license. InstructionsWhen you launch TWiT Live Desktop you'll see the default video stream, right-clicking gives you a number of options including changing the video stream between the following providers:
Double-click the video to toggle between full screen and normal mode. The application remembers the position and size of the video window on your screen the next time you launch it. You can take snapshots of the video by choosing "Take video snapshot" from the right-click menu. This will generate a JPEG snapshot that opens in your default image viewer. The interactive features of the application allow you to log into an IRC chatroom as well as visit TWiT related sites and see the production schedule. There is an "Always on top" setting that makes sure the video is always displayed on top of all other windows. This setting is remembered the next time you launch the application. The application automatically checks for updates and you can trigger this yourself as well by clicking "Check for updates" in the right-click menu. Note: the controls of the video players showing the live video sources are rendered in the background and can't be used. You can double-click the video to toggle full screen mode. |
