Issue 8: Invalid username crashes remote clients
  Back to list
Status:  Fixed
Owner:  lantatla...@gmail.com
Closed:  Aug 2008

Reported by minister...@gmail.com, Jan 9, 2008
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create your username with a backspace or other non-alphanumeric character
2. Connect to remote host

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Remote host can't parse invalid characters and display them gracefully in JSON.

Minor fix by parsing CLI inputs, but malicious user could still send invalid data.
Receiving client should do checks and report error messages back to user (or users on
both sides?)
