In December 2007, Jean Véronis published on his blog a word cloud with words arranged on a tree which reflected their semantic proximity inside a corpus of newspaper articles.

The program TreeCloud, builds such tree clouds for any text. Such pictures may be used for many purposes: quick visualization of the global content of a text (article, speech, report, book, ...), discourse analysis, text comparison through the comparison of their tree clouds.
