NSURLConnection is handy - but widely considered to be leaky and buggy. Considering writing
an open source replacement that ties into the rest of TouchConnection.

Features:

• iPhone or Mac OS
• Simple API. Close to NSURLConnection but not too close.
• Uses standard NSURLRequest/Response. Let's no reinvent the wheel
• More control of caching. By default no caching? But hooks to add in?
• Write data to file by default or to a single NSData block. No need to append data chunks to get
the body data.
• Proxy support (via SC.framework).
• Optional https support
• Optional auth (digest & basic).

Implementation:
• Some of the work has already been done with TouchHTTPD - wrapping of CFHTTP* in Cocoa.
Can take that code - extend it and turn into some of what we need.

There are alternatives out there CUrlHandle, FKURLConnection etc.

Doesn't Apple accept patches for NSURLConnection?

Patches? To what? The code isn't available.
