Featured
Updated Feb 4, 2010 by waylonis

Introduction

There are three components to Top Draw: the viewer, the editor, and an application support folder. The rest of this page will describe how you can remove these components.

Details

Viewer

  1. Go to the Top Draw Viewer icon (typically a filled circle or rectangle) on the right in the menubar and choose Quit.
  2. Open the System Preferences pane, and choose Accounts.
  3. Select the Login Items tab.
  4. Remove the Top Draw Viewer entry (if present).

Editor

  1. Drag the Top Draw application to the Trash.

Application Support

  1. Navigate to your Home directory.
  2. Navigate into Library > Application Support > Google directory.
  3. Drag the TopDraw folder to the Trash.

These instructions do not accomplish the goal. Bad on you for having an application that cannot be removed.

I agree. These instructions don't let me get Top Draw from screwing up my desktop pic. I can't empty trash of it! It is not in Viewer. I don't know what Editor is. I dragged Top Draw to the trash from Application Support but cannot empty trash.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with the uninstall. I've updated the instructions.

How hard would it be to write an Uninstaller? Ten minutes worth of code? While the program illustrates some interesting drawing routines, otherwise it simply sucks

Thanks for the feedback. Top Draw v1.1 now has an uninstall AppleScript?.

Comment by kimmari...@gmail.com, Apr 28, 2009

Right, I installed Top Draw yesterday and it DOES screw up my desktop, so I want it gone! Don't know what version I installed, but I moved it to the trash and it's still not gone. It says I can't empty trash cause Top Draw Viewer is in use. So how do I stop it? When I search for it in finder it's nowhere to be found, cause I deleted it already.

Sorry to hear that it's not working for you -- can you elaborate on how it did not work as expected?

If you downloaded a version with the uninstaller, you should be able to just double click the "UninstallTopDraw?" AppleScript? application. Otherwise, following the instructions above should remove Top Draw and its pieces from your computer.
