tiffscan is an advanced SANE frontend with batch scan capabilities. Its only output format is TIFF, in both single page and multi page mode. It will correctly fill most TIFF tags and supports lossless compression modes.

tiffscan handles RGBI (RGB+infrared) capable backends which is a pretty unique feature among SANE frontends (SANE Evolution or SANE 1.1 required).

tiffscan is particularly suitable as a starting point for every digital workflow, from optical archiving of paper documents to slide scans. Using the TIFF format, tiffscan produces universally compatible image files.
