Sometimes it just works, sometimes it shows me the white window shown in the attachment above. In most cases the archives are splitted and passwordprotected .rar files. Hope that helps (Version 2.2 - Mac OS 10.6)

I had exactly the same issue, SQLDeveloper (Version 1.5.5. and 2.1EA1) throwed some ClassNotFound Exception if I was starting it. The problem was that TheUnarchiver messed up with the downloaded tar.gz and created a folder with two entries: - SQLDeveloper.app - @LongLink After unpacking it with StuffIt Expander I got only the SQLDeveloper.app, which worked. Im running MacOSX 10.6.2, TheUnarchiver 2.2 You can download the SQLDeveloper from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/index.html, but you'll need a free Oracle acount to download it.

When The Unarchiver tried to join the split files I received the following message: The contents of the file "[file name].pdf.001" can not be extracted with this program. I also tried a mov file that resulted in the same error message.

issue 220 (CAB extraction is broken) reported by eksopl   -   CAB extraction seems to be broken in the latest XADMaster. The Unarchiver reports "Error on decrunching" when extracting CAB files. From what I was able to gather, it seems something is wrong with either computing checksums or getting the stored checksum (XADTest2 and 3 claim every file in the cab archive has a wrong checksum). I don't know enough about XADMaster's internals or Objective-C to figure out what's wrong, sorry. I may be way off as well. Attached a cab file as a sample. It comes from PJIRC.

I just remembered a command I used previously to help me learn how to chroot programs. It's called dtruss. I'm going to start running dtruss on the pid on unarchiver untill I can produce the bug again. My question is would this help you determine why this is happening? You have any other commands that could produce information that could possibly lead to a fix?
