Original issue 16 created by hdietze on 2012-01-10T16:04:44.000Z:

Hi,

Once the new TG can be used for chemical terms, could we please also have a template for chemical entity binding terms? E.g. flavonoid binding, see
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3371569&group_id=36855&atid=440764

Many thanks,
Paola

This will need to make use of logical definitions maintained outside the main ontology. See:

http://wiki.geneontology.org/index.php/Ontology_extensions

I propose we make the OWL file primary here. This will take a bit of engineering with TG as it needs to write to two sources: the main ontology and an extensions file (even more awkward if these are split across CVS and SVN, I think we should switch to SVN for the editors directory first).

Import goche or chebi? I think chebi and also import the axioms that state that every conjugate base is equivalent for the purposes of binding (go/extensions/bio-chebi.owl)
