The project aims to integrate the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and the Dojo framework. Indeed the Dojo framework is very rich in term of widgets and utilities (fisheye, slider, drag and drop functionality) and the main interest is to take benefits of the huge work which has been already done by the Dojo community. In other words, it means: the Dojo widgets become GWT widgets, the Dojo utilities become GWT helper.

Tatami 1.3 is released !
This release is really exciting, since it brings many new features to Tatami. Please note that Tatami 1.3 breaks the compatibility with GWT 1.4.
New Features
- Charting support
- Tree Widget
- Dojo drag and drop can now be used in Tatami
- The border container has been ported, advantagally replacing both GWT DockPanel and SplitPanels
- Relies on custom dojo builds, optimizing it for the very use of Tatami
- Easier dijit Theme integration
- Now relies on latest Dojo 1.2.3 release
- The grid wrapping has been ported from dojo's DataGrid 1.1 to DataGrid 1.2
Licence change
Some users did not understand why Tatami was distributed under LGPL license, arguing Dojo is available under a BSD license and GWT is distributed under an Apache license. We heard them, and Tatami 1.3 is now distributed under the three following licenses: - LGPL - BSD - Apache License 2 Every user should pick the license he wants.
Tatamix
In addition to Tatami, we provide an experimental package called TatamiX. TatamiX is currently NOT meant to be used as-is, since it lacks a lot of unit tests and documentation. We expect to test and document tatamiX's package components before moving them into Tatami
Testing
We are also releasing tatami-tests, which is a set of pages designed to be tested with HTMLUnit. They provide simple examples, which we think may be useful.
