Why do you list Synergy2 as "abandoned". Have you been completely unable to reach the author? It might be "quiescent", but I don't think it's been abandoned.

Comment by ssg...@gmail.com, Jul 14, 2009

Looks like SynergyKM is no longer abandoned: there have been new SVN commits on Jul 9, 2009 to update it a lot.

Comment by nick.bolton.uk, Jul 21, 2009

skip.montanaro: The major consensus seems to be that the original version of synergy is abandoned. If you believe that the original project is likely to make another release soon, then you should contribute code to them. Here's a list of recent patches for the original synergy: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=59275&atid=490469

Please read the Wikipedia artcle for Synergy+ which provides some links to pages that may help to explain the situation of the original Synergy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synergy%2B

ssg...@gmail.com: SVN commits does not always mean that a project will make another release - the project may still dwindle once more. We should sit tight on this one, and see what happens.

I've been using QSynergy but would love to see that work updated with some new features in Synergy+!

Anyone who needs a Mac only solution should check out Teleport. It's really really easy to set up and has some features like drag and drop between computers. Maybe you could even add it to this page.

SynergyKM isn't abandoned, a Snow Leopard 64 bit version was just released.

timmerk: Great thanks!

What about SynergyGUI for Mac OSX?

Comment by pavel.leon, Oct 18, 2009

Are you aware that OpenSolaris? incorporated a Synergy package (SUNWsynergy) in snv_125?. The version is 1.3.1 so their sources should come from synergy2.sf.net.

I had been using x2x on OpenSolaris? and looking to use Synergy.

Yes, that's the upstream I took it from because I only found the google/synergy-plus version at the 11th hour. I'll be testing and looking for feedback on revving it to synergy-plus. Is there any reason at this time to keep synergy2?

Thanks - Stuart
