issue 194 (Linux synergys server often locks up when Windows client rec...) commented on by rubinlinux   -   I compiled 1.3.4 from this site with debug enabled. Attached is a gdb full backtrace. It appears it is stuck in __lll_lock_wait in the pthread library, ultimately arising from CXWindowsScreen.cpp line 1177 That puts it over my head :O hope someone can do something with it. I'm going to try going to older versions and see if I can find where it stops. (I'm running Scientific Linux 5.4 (based on redhat enterprise linux 5.4) and connecting to an XP machine. Hang happens when focusing text boxes on the remote windows client and typing a single key.)

Requirements (Details about supported operating systems) Wiki page commented on by garretjames   -   I just use screen to run synergy 1.3.1 as a foreground process on my PPC with Leopard. And use Synergy+ 1.3.4 on my Windows XP machine and it works fine. The PPC is the server. That is what I would recommend for now until this gets ironed out.

issue 171 (Windows 7 RTM: when elevated window appears on client, syner...) commented on by jd2066   -   I've started using LogMeIn.com remote access recently (Proprietary, Free Online Service for basic features) and I've found that LogMeIn's software will start the second the Windows screen appears and network is loaded. I've connected to it while Windows was loading and was able to see the screen that said "Configuring Updates...", I waited, logged in and was able to control everything UAC prompts and all. I'm not quite sure how the software does it but that shows that it is possible to see the contents of "Session 0" and control the input to it.

issue 171 (Windows 7 RTM: when elevated window appears on client, syner...) commented on by matthewab2001   -   I have a similar problem, Windows 7 is my server and Windows Vista (both 64 bit) is the client. Running Synergy + as administrator on both machines (don't mind about having to elevate I have a KVM) both desktops are run under standard user accounts only elevating when necessary via UAC. I can control programs that are running as administrator no problem, but I'm completley locked out of the client when a UAC prompt appears. Stardock's Multiplicity can handle this, but even that struggles and sometimes the pointer goes stray so it's certainly a thorny problem.

issue 281 (synergys causes hover/focus issues with gnome-panel-2.28.0) reported by miller.larson   -   > Description I have linux setup as the synergy server, while synergys is running, gnome-panel has focus/hover issues. The only way I can select a tile out of the window list, is to move directly to the tile. If I move the cursor up over the window list, then horizontally move to another tile, I cannot click on another tile, I have to move the cursor back off of the window list, and re-approach the tile directly, without first hovering over another tile. > What list of steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Running gnome session with a gnome-panel that includes a window list 2. Start synergys 3. "killall synergys" solves issue > What is the expected behavior, and what happens instead? Expect that focus will follow horizontal cursor movement across gnome-panel's window list and left clicking another tile will activate tile. > What version of operating system, and Synergy+ are you using? Gentoo with Gnome 2.28.x and synergy+ 1.3.4 (on both linux server and windows client) > Is there a way of temporarily working around your problem? Simply having to move cursor directly to a tile in the window list, rather than being able to move the mouse over the window list horizontally and selecting/clicking a tile. Just causes a load of extra mouse movements.

issue 58 (Extra mouse buttons) commented on by thalin   -   Hi, I did yet more work figuring out what's going on here, and I've got it figured out now. I used the linux command xev to figure out which events were being sent to the x server on clicks. I switched my setup around so that I have the synergy server running on my Windows 7 machine, and the client on my Ubuntu 9.10 machine. I ran xev and moved the mouse from one machine to the other. When the mouse is attached to the Linux box, xev shows that back/forward clicks generate button events 8 & 9, respectively. After moving the mouse to the Windows box (the synergy server), and mousing over to the Linux desktop, the same button clicks generate button events 6 & 7.

issue 280 (Mouse on Dual Monitor client will only go to 1 of the 2 moni...) reported by gonemad   -   My current setup is this 2 machines xp 64 as the server.. who's monitor is in the middle.. and ubuntu 9.10 machine as the client with a monitor to the left and a monitor to the right. I have 2 graphics cards in that machine so each monitor has its own video card and also the 2 monitors are set up as independent displays. I also have 2 synergyc processes running.. one with display set to :1.0 the other to :0.0 The left monitor is a resolution around 1620x1080 or something like that.. the right monitor is 1280x1024 The bug is present on 1.3.1 and every version on here as well. I've been using synergy for years so i have a valid config for this setup (it ran fine on fedora a few weeks ago) What happens is when i move my mouse off of the center screen to the right monitor.. it jumps to the left monitor(it jumps to the primary display.. the left happens to be the primary in this scenario) but it acts like the resolution is 1280x1024 (the right's resolution) and wont let me move outside of that range. If i move from the center to the left monitor.. it works as intended and lets the mouse move around the whole screen. Now the weird thing is.. if i plug a mouse into the linux machine.. and manually move the cursor to the right display.. i am able to move the mouse around that screen with synergy.. but once i move the cursor off that display, it will go back to the left display I am unsure if this is a bug introduced in ubuntu 9.10 was i was running fedora with this setup before

issue 277 (linux synergys freezes, makes xorg mouse dissapear) reported by rubinlinux   -   Running synergys from rhel: synergy-plus 1.3.4 release 1eel5.rf On windows, running synergy-plus 1.3.4 but also happened with classic synergy. Older version of synergy server did NOT have this problem (sorry I don't have the exact version we used to use) Linux as the server, windows as a client. If I run KeePass on windows, synergys seems to hang when I begin typing my password into the initial Keepass password prompt. I wonder if KeePass does something to try and thwart keyloggers, but regardless it should not cause synergys to stop responding. Someone else should try to verify this is all there is to triggering this. I'm using KeePass 2.08 available here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/keepass/KeePass-2.08-Setup.exe Thanks, -Alex (rubin@physics.umn.edu)
