AnnouncementSWFUpload has not been under active development for several years. The existing SWFUpload code is stable but the Adobe Flash Player platform has significant bugs that have not been addressed since Flash Player v8; the platform SWFUpload originally targeted. We have kept the Google Code, Issue Tracker, and Groups active so the community can continue to support one another. We appreciate the support and dedication of the community members despite the many bugs we have to work around to make SWFUpload work. We would really like to see SWFUpload revived, extended, and modernized to incorporate the new features found in the HTML5 proposal. If you or your organization would like to contribute to the SWFUpload project please contact us. We will start with a branched release and eventually migrate the entire project to the new maintainers once we've established that the project can be revived. IntroductionSWFUpload is a JavaScript Library that wraps the Flash Player's upload function. It brings your uploads to the next level with Multiple File Selection, Upload Progress and Client-side File Size Checking. Unlike other Flash upload tools, SWFUpload leaves the UI in the developer's hands. Using a set of event handlers developers can display upload progress and status to the user in their own HTML/CSS UI. SWFUpload has been featured in such projects as YouTube and WordPress.
