The new micro change from 2.4.2 to 2.4.3 affects the installed SPAWK libraries' ownership and file modes. The owner becomes root, the group becomes root and the file modes become 644 instead of 755.

SPAWK Utilities Library (SUL) is under construction

A library of awk functions (using spawk functions or not) is under construction. The library contains a BEGIN section and many utility functions to carry out simple abeit tedious jobs, e.g. printing error messages, check for errors etc. The library will be named util.awk and will be included in the next minor release (2.5.XX).

Minor Code Bug Fixed

There was a tiny bug in the server.c source file. It's fixed now, but that was in an unreachable code region (error situation that can never occur).

Begining with version 2.4.1, the Test/version.awk script is provided for fast SPAWK version check. To check your SPAWK version, run:

Begining with version 2.4.0, the SPAWKINFO["version"] element will contain the SPAWK version number. Thus, in order to check your SPAWK module version number just run:
