Hi Tim (et al),
Version 1.4.3 doesn't want to load for me:
When it tries to "kextload /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext" I get the following output/error:
root@apollo:~# kextload -t /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext appears to be valid kld(): /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext/Contents/MacOS/Soundflower load command 2 unknown cmd field kextload: kld_load_from_memory() failed for module /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext/Contents/MacOS/Soundflower kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext load failed for extension /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext
1.4.2 has the same problem, and 1.4.1 says my OS is too old. In the meantime, I'm going back to 1.2 which works, although it "turns itself off" after a few hours, requiring me to re-select "Built-in Audio".
(I haven't tried running the 1.4.3 Soundflowerbed.app with the 1.2 Kernel Extension... Shrug)
For further diagnosis, feel free to email me: dabe (at) dabe (dot) com.
Cheers!
Hello,
Not sure if any of the developers are monitoring, but 1.4.3 seems to have some serious trouble on my Mac Pro and a Macbook. Serious as in: always fails after a couple of minutes playing audio from iTunes on my Mac Pro, and serious as in switching output always causes it to freeze on the Macbook. See notes in issue 19 .
I might try to dig into the source and see what I can find out -- about 2001 I worked on CoreAudio? drivers but things have no doubt changed a lot since then.
Having trouble uninstalling the app - it says in the 'read me' text file to "double-click on the Uninstall_Soundflower?.command file" - where is this located specifically? I have done a finder search and can't find it anywhere... am I being silly?
Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance for your time.
1.5.1 Work ok on snow Leopard and Intel iMac
I've got OS 10.5.8 and the Soundflower 1.5.1 has installed but it isn't there as an option on the sound panel on system prefs or the Audio MIDI utility, can you give help as to how to fix this?
Version 1.4.3 doesn't work with my PowerPC G5 iMac running OS X 10.4.11 - no new audio devices are installed.
