SKOSEd is a plugin for Protege 4 that allows you to create and edit thesauri (or similar artefacts) represented in the Simple Knowledge Organisation System (SKOS).

SKOS is now a W3C recommendation and users familiar with SKOS will notice that SKOSEd still treats labels as OWL data properties. Luckily, you can create labels as annotations using the standard Protege 4 interface. The developers of Protege 4 are trying to keep Protege 4 and the underlying OWL API inline with the latest OWL 2 specification, which has recently undergone some changes. Work on SKOSEd has been temporarily halted while Protege 4.1 and the underlying OWL API are updated. One of the main advantages these changes will bring is that SKOSEd will allow the creation of sub-annotation properties. The porting of the SKOSEd plugin to Protege 4.1 will take place in September/October 2009. Please e-mail directly if you any queries about this. Simon
