Just like a skipper commands a vessel navigating across the seas, Skippr commands a user agent's navigation through the sea of RDF data on the web.
It sits between the user agent and the Giant Global Graph, providing cross cutting services that are necessary for a comprehensive browsing experience:
- Sessions
- DelegatedAuthentication
- PluggableTrustFramework
- UserInterfaceEngine ( Fresnel )
- Schema Inference and IFP Smushing
- Guided Navigation Engine ( Facets )
- LinkedData ( On Demand Scuttering )
- SearchEngineFederation ( Sindice )
- ProvenanceTracking
- SPARQL Endpoint Management and Federation
You can think of Skippr as a low level browser, over which real, multi modal, human oriented browsers operate.
