Skillclouds

A tool for helping students and academics engage with skills.

The Skillclouds project started with the aim of exploring if using 'tag clouds' as an interface could help students engaging with the transferable skills they were developing at University. During the project's user centered design process students identified how they found it difficult discovering, articulating and engaging with the skills they had been acquiring. User experience techniques were used to let the students designed both the interface, the structure of information and the types of information they wanted, all of which you can download from here, and use yourself.

You can watch a short video on how students use Skillclouds on screencast.

Skillclouds has been adopted by the University of Sussex along with Sussex Plus to support graduates in understanding and communicating their skills.

You can try out Skillclouds for yourself on the Skillclouds demo page
