Welcome!
This is a wiki to discuss how we can improve this little application for viewing and editing attributes in SketchUp.
Ideas
- Customizable Category Viewer Wouldn't it be great if you could write your own "renderer" for a particular category? For example, if you knew that the "ApplicanceInfo" category held a URL of an image in the "image_link" attribute, then you could render that page specially by fetching the image and loading it into the page.
It's approaching the features of another plugin http://forums.renderplus.com/wiki/index.php?title=RpReports
Hi, I'v looked at this plugin and I am not clear on one thing how do you extract the attributes.
I also use ACAD and I have an attribute extractor, which is seperate to the programme is this also required here?
Regards,
Sergio
RpReports? extracts the attributes into a PDF report.
Also, it can create a .CSV file of SketchUp? components and attributes for exernal processing.

when you report using the tools->attributes->show menu item, it asked is you want to use the definition. when you answer no, it only shows one DC attribute. using the context menu, it doesn't give you the choice, it always shows the attributes of the definition. Say that you have a dynamic component that allows you to edit the X, Y, and Z values... When you make an instance, and you edit those values the DC moves to that location when you hit 'accept' from the DC Options window. When you run File->Generate Report on it, it correctly shows the values of X, Y, and Z.
But when you run show, from the context menu it doesn't show you the true values of the instance's XYZ values, instead it shows you the values that are stored on the definition. and when you edit and save, you are storing those on the definition, not on the instance.
So the question remains, who cares about the X,Y,Z of the definition when it changes as soon as the DC object is instantiated? How do you get the DC to evaluate itself so that you can get the Current(X), Current(Y), and Current(Z).
(and maybe I just answered my question, I don't know I'm new at this)
Could I suggest another feature. It would be nice to be able to choose the variable type that gets entered into the attributes, such as string, integer, float, and possibly even arrays with a combination of the above
