Translating
Instructions for translating the Sigil UI to other languages.
IntroductionStarting with version 0.5.0, the user interface of Sigil supports being displayed in multiple languages. Currently the system locale is used to determine which translation to use. There is no manual support for choosing which language to use at this time. Desktop ToolsSigil uses Qt's Linguist tool for creating and editing translations. You can either download Qt and compile the tools manually or use the prebuilt packages from http://code.google.com/p/photivo/downloads/detail?name=translator-tools-win32.zip . How to add translationsUpdating and creating new translation files is the same process.
Web ToolsSigil can be translated using the web based translation system Transifex. See https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/sigil/ . Naming conventionAll translations files should have the form sigil_lang.ts. Where lang is the two letter language code. For example the Polish translation will have the filename sigil_pl.ts and the German translation will have the filename sigil_de.ts. Posting Comments/Questions Please use the Sigil Forum at MobileRead for all questions/comments. Comments on this wiki will be removed. |
