What is Shelfr?Do you have a collection of books on your computer? If you only have one or two books on the computer there is no problem, however if you have a large collection of books on your computer, there could be some problem to manage and find specific books. You can try to come up some categories and divide the whole lot of books into different folders. The problem for categorize the books into different folders is that one book can only be put into one folder. However the situation is that it may belong to several categories a book about writing AI in Java may be in "IT", "Programming", "Java" or "AI" category, put it into all the folders is not practicable. Shelfr is intended to solve all these problems. Shelfr is an open source software program that organizes the ebooks into predefined folder hierarchy and label them for ease of search. It's your personalized library sits in your computer. How does Shelfr work?Shelfr manages books that stored on your computer in a central repository called "Shelfr Library". All the books is stored in a well defined folder hierarchy, and each of the book are tagged with the basic tags like "Title", "Authors", "Publisher", "Year". User can also tag the book with custom defined tags, like "Programming", "Fiction" or other tags. The tags works exactly like the "Label" feature like gmail. You can tag as many tags to a book you like:) Beyond ShelfrMore features of Shelfr may be included in the future.
