FAQ- How to see what does this add-on do?
Install the add-on and then try to search something with Google. The content of the searchbox in the toolbar will change accordingly.
- How to add a custom synchronization rule?
- Open the Add-ons Manager (Tools > Add-ons)
- Double-click on SearchBox Sync.
- Click on "Add...".
- Complete all fields.
- If you choose the rule type "Simple", you have to provide the beginning of the address and the parameter's name in the address where to get the keywords.

Yes you can.
- A default synchronization rule doesn't work, why?

I don't even understand the language you're speaking in. I was hoping for a simple explanation of what this add-on does. If there is a link you can suggest I can be reached at rhema_man@yahoo.com Thank You
I'd also be grateful for a more step by step explanation of how. I'm trying to get your extension to work with http://www.proz.com/?sp=search
Thanks for all your efforts all the same however.
You can't get it to work with http://www.proz.com/?sp=search. This addon decodes URL and finds out what was searched for. There search term is not available for the url you listed.
Uhhh... what? Again, why not humor the laymen who are interested enough to make it to this page? Or better yet, a simple explanation on your Mozilla page would be a nice gesture towards making your add-on more accessible.
How could regular person create a custom search with this /[^(?|/)]\?.... thing???
look ive been using opera for a long time and the their search bar is really amazing, and easy to make a new search option, with just adding (%s) to the search keyword area in the URL,
eg: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=firefox&btnG=Search firefox to %s
please think about this !!!!
