# Road map for the blogs page

Roadmap for the blogs pge

I've been doing a wee bit of the code on the blog page, and I'd like to propose a prioritised list of the features I think should be added. I've picked up most of these from conversations so far, and some from my own head, and some that Robert and John thought up. I'll try to put them in the best order of usefulness.

A pull down menu with sort options Sorting by alphabetical - A-Z and Z-A with paginated A,B,C..X,Y,Z links (split into pages if needs be)

Sorting by recently updated - and reverse order of this. Paginated by 12 months blocks (like blog archive) (split into pages if needs be)

Sorting by most visited - and reverse order of this. Paginated by hit ranges.(hit ranges react to page sizes) (depends on counter facility of some sort)

HTML output of list A simple HTML output of the results, exportable elsewhere.

Basic click logging Needs to be a feature before I can create some of the sorts below. This will just keep track of who clicks what blog, in order to help see what's popular.

Blog list widget A generator of an IFRAME/Javascript device which will allow easy addition of a custom tag/search/authority filtered list on any website.

Email this list A simple email function to allow people to send lists to others

Remove from results A link that enables a new mode on filtered results - you can exclude any blog that you don't wish to be in your results (thinking here of those that know they will be exporting later on). This will work through a "greying out" toggle link. Good explanation will have to be available with this, as it really only makes sense in relation to the exporting of results!

Edit this entry This will give you a bit of code that has to be posted on your blog, also asking for an email address. The user then comes back to the site and initiates a check. ScotEduBlogs checks the blog and if the code is there, it will email the user an editor's link and password for their blog entry.

Flag for concern Quick way to temporarily hide an entry while the details are verified.

Save results as a collection This will take you to another part of the site, where you can explain what your collection of blogs is about, give the context of the collection, and link to any other non-blog sources related. The collection will then be on the "collections" page, which no doubt will also be sortable/searchable/etc

--- Completed things..

A Search box Search box with check boxes to indicate whether user wants to search title/description. Updates results automatically.
