RSS Guard (latest stable version 1.1.1)

RSS Guard is useful and (very) tiny RSS 0.92/1.0/2.0 & ATOM 1.0 feed reader. It can keep feeds organized in categories, update information from them automatically and notice user if there is new message.

Next generation will be ready in month probably, we set the defensive deadline for releasing it for 16.4.2012

Supported Protocols

  • RSS 2.0 - RSSG is able to parse only feeds, which are RSS 2.0 compatible (there are plenty websites, that have incompatible feeds)
  • RSS 0.92/1.0 - older version of RSS standard
  • ATOM 1.0 - quite new feed format (many sites do not follow ATOM 1.0 specs and use some kind of "pseudo-atomic" implementation)

Languages

  • English
  • Czech
  • Spanish
  • Russian
  • Danish
  • French

If you want to translate rssg, then visit this page

If you want to add new language to rss-guard Transifex page, then contact members of this project. I will not provide any further unnecessary effort, translations are issue for translators.

Author and Other Infos

RSSG is made by Martin Rotter, primarily as School Project. Remember, that RSSG is using GNU GPLv3 license, so you can go through source code. Please don't fork this application just to fix some bugs. File the bug issue and i will look what i can do with it.

If you feel that this app made you happier (its unlikely :)), then you can send me some tiny amount of money. Contact me in that case.
