Excel, Web and Wikipedia extensions for JBoss Drools

What is Red Piranha?

Drools is great. It allows you to state your business in a simple when ... then format that business and domain experts can understand. Instead of having your knowledge 'disappear' into code that you can't understand, Drools keeps things in a simple 'English' like format. Even better, because of the way it works 'under the covers' it is faster and more powerful than code translated into a technical language.

Most business users are more comfortable with Excel and the Web than with Java. Java is great if you've a technical department behind you. Red-Piranha packages Drools so that you can start writing and using business rules straight away. Red-Piranha allows you to put your rules and data in Excel and Java, then call Drools in a simple package to do the hard work.

Where are the book samples?

You may be here looking looking for the code samples from the book Beginning Business rules with JBoss Drools. They're on the right hand side of this page. If you've any technical issues with the code check the existing or create a new issue here - remember to add a label 'DroolsBook'. A general 'comments on the book' page can also be found here BookFeedback

But hey, stick around - Red-Piranha is a more powerful version of the samples used for demonstration purposes.

How do I use it?

Where is the previous version?

The previous version of Red Piranha (also Knowledge Management but based on Lucene Search) can be found here
