Is this available for download? I don't see it on this page.

Comment by project member adamjmcg...@gmail.com, May 7, 2008

Version 0.1 is in the Downloads section

Comment by chris.po...@gmail.com, May 13, 2008

It would be nice to minimize to system tray in Windows.

Comment by ralph.sa...@gmail.com, May 13, 2008

how do you access the User Preferences?

Comment by C.K.Jvs...@gmail.com, May 14, 2008

I do appreciate your job and I like this a lot! But I think that you'd better ask for my permission before using my Google Reader icon. Still I'm glad that you choose my icon. ;)

Comment by project member adamjmcg...@gmail.com, May 14, 2008

Thanks Jvstin, I've sent you an email

Comment by teh...@gmail.com, May 14, 2008

I've been waiting for a desktop application that integrates with Google Reader. Desktop apps are pretty useless if you have 2 computers. This is great!

Comment by yat...@gmail.com, May 14, 2008

If you have no unread items, you can't click on All Items. Once you've submitted your username/password, I don't see a way to go back and change it, or get to the User Preferences tab.

Comment by billtram...@gmail.com, May 14, 2008

Are there keyboard shortcuts? j and k are the best Reader tools ever. :-)

Comment by austinms...@gmail.com, May 14, 2008

I need j and k and all the other greader shortcuts. I can't even use the arrow keys??? is that a joke or is this on my computer only(I hope)...

Comment by hbokho...@gmail.com, May 15, 2008

I'm behind a proxy - any way to set this? Or if not: how about adding this option in a future version?

Comment by Joe.Kue...@gmail.com, May 15, 2008

Thanks. Great idea.

Like others, I'd love to see the keyboard shortcuts. Unlike others, instead of complaining about it, I'll dig into the source code and see if I can add them myself and feed them back to you.

Thanks again for your hard work.

Comment by donkitc...@gmail.com, May 15, 2008

Does this update your data in your google reader account so that if I look with my web client again it shows what I've read?

Also, do you store the username/password anywhere?

Comment by project member adamjmcg...@gmail.com, May 15, 2008

@cpot... - Good idea, I'll look into adding that. Windows support increase as soon as I get round to installing parallells on my mac ;)

@ralph.sanders - Version 0.11 now has a prefs menu for Windows users

@tehdik - Thanks!

@yatesc - Weird, I wasn't aware of that, could you add it to issues (if you haven't already)

@billtrammel and austinmscott - I've added the all important J/K shortcuts in 0.11, more to come... :)

@hbokhoven - not sure about that, it should just work like a web browser

@Joe.Kueser - Awesome! Have a look. To save you time I've added J/K in version 0.11

@donkitchen - Yes it does - cool eh! The Username/Password gets stored in an encrypted file on your machine and sent to google over https so it's all secure.

This thread is getting a bit long, I've set up a Google Group here: http://groups.google.com/group/readair

Thanks for all your comments!

Logout option ??

hey there is not logout option in readair :(

Comment by seermob...@gmail.com, May 16, 2008

great - air app - :) is there a share button? this is my most used feature of Google reader.

Comment by akti...@gmail.com, May 16, 2008

Excellent app! One comment: Mark unread topcs as BOLD is essential - otherwise its not recognizable

Comment by terrance...@gmail.com, May 16, 2008

How about tagging?

Comment by rich.mil...@gmail.com, May 18, 2008

Great start. A couple of issues: - clicking through on a URL.

no option to open in another window no option to open in the (default) browser
- once at a destination page, there no way to navigate BACK to the reader view
(unless you quit and restart ReadAir?)

Comment by rich.mil...@gmail.com, May 18, 2008

Update on my previous comment:

SOME links, when clicked, open up in the default browser. Others open up within the ReadAir? reader. Since I can't inspect the nature of the URLs associated with these "hotspots", I can't tell which ones generate the pathological behavior.

Comment by rich.mil...@gmail.com, May 18, 2008

Organizing tags:

Is there an organizing principle to ordering of tags in the sidebar? I assume that, in time, one can have them ordered - alphabetically - most recent update - largest number of "unread" posts

Comment by vaa.a...@gmail.com, May 26, 2008

awesome - I wish there was an "expanded view" option...

Comment by robert.j...@gmail.com, Jun 18, 2008

I concur with rich.miller. Am using OS X and when I click on a blue ball I get the page loaded in readair with no way to navigate back. I tried j and k but no luck. If I click on the link beside the blue ball I get firefox loaded with a new tab with the content.

Comment by phani...@gmail.com, Jun 27, 2008

same here.. i had a link in the feed item and if i click it it launches the browser window.. but the same is not true for an image link, instead it opens it in the ReadAir? itself and then there is no way to navigate back except to restart the Readair again by closing and opening it

Comment by ruben.me...@gmail.com, Jul 15, 2008

well, to me don't work on leopard, i don't know why.

Comment by goo...@sectorprime.com, Aug 3, 2008

Please stop using var fav = "http://www.sectorprime.com/cgi-bin/fav2png.pl?fav=" + domname;

I don't mind people making a few hits on it, but including it in an application like this will just swamp the image cache.

The source code for fav2png is freely available from http://www.sectorprime.com/fav2png.htm, so you can easily set up your own version. If you want me to host a fav2png service specifically for readair, let me know.

Thanks.

Comment by project member adamjmcg...@gmail.com, Aug 5, 2008

@goo...@sectorprime.com

apologies, will change that in the next release.

thanks adam

Comment by johnpaul...@gmail.com, Jan 31, 2009

Great app, I have two requested features. Atleast on a Mac it would be nice if you could close the window without quitting the application (i know you can minimize it...) It would be also be nice if it had growl-like notification in the top right corner of the screen when a new feed post is found (like what tweet deck does)

Great app guys thanks!

Comment by jcoll...@gmail.com, Aug 6, 2009

That would be awesome to make the link we click opening in the background, without quitting read air window. Plus, a real favicon support and system tray icon, for the moment it doesn't seem to work. Thanks

Comment by djc...@gmail.com, May 24, 2010

Hi, are you available for hire to develop an Adobe AIR application. The project has great potential. Please get back to me at your earliest convenience.
