This source code is provided in snippet form for whenever you need a quick and dirty way to raycast against a static triangle mesh. I would strongly recommend that you use 'Opcode' by Pierre Terdiman if you need a robust general purpose raycasting system. However; OpCode is a significant amount of source code and, sometimes, it might be preferable to use this small snippet implementation instead which requires only a single header and CPP file for the implementation.

This implementation uses a balanced axis-aligned bounding volume tree. Which is similar, if not identical, to what Opcode uses. It's a relatively small source file and extremely easy to integrate into any code base. It also might be of interest as a learning tool for developers.
