to install on RHEL 8 (maybe also 9) python setup.py install --install-data=/usr otherwise the installation script uses /usr/local and it fails when launching client (e.g. nautilus) with error:

GLib.Error: g-file-error-quark: Failed to open file “/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/actions/rabbitvcs-cancel.svg”: No such file or directory

What happens if you omit the --install-data parameter? Can you check the contents of rabbitvcs/buildinfo.py and paste them here please?
