Crowded oceanographic diagrams would look better with less axis space and more data space. So, blasphemy though it may be, the R defaults should be tweaked to, perhaps, par(mgp = c(2, 2/3, 0)). |

I'll start with plot.profile(), plot.TS(), since these are often used in combination, e.g. by plot.ctd(). |
