These diagrams would be less confusing to the novice if the bottom were
indicated somehow, so plot.section() should be able to receive a bottom
trace (as a function of x along the section) and should be able to infer it
from the individual casts, if nothing is provided.

Um, that was actually a bug -- the code was *trying* to show the bottom!  Fixed now
in development version.
