Upcoming plugins

The following plugins will be released in the next major version (currently 2.4). If you can't wait till then, try building the latest QL from source.

Please bear in mind these are mostly still Beta; if you find any bugs or have feature requests, please use the Issues pages.

Duplicates Browser

Wondered why you seem to hear some songs much more than others? Do you have lots of Best Of or compilation albums that feature some of the same songs. Or perhaps you just have old low-quality versions of albums still there...

The duplicates browser can search your entire library for duplicates of all of the songs you select, with the definition of "duplicate" configurable by any tag. You can then browse, play / queue songs, and edit their tags - or just delete them.

Acoustic Fingerprinter

Uses the chromaprint library from acousticid.org to produce a unique acoustic "fingerprint" of the audio track, reliable even over varying recording qualities, linked to the MusicBrain music database, allowing automated identification and re-tagging of music. Requires gst-chromaprint.

Squeezebox Sync

This plugin allows rudimentary "mirroring" of Quod Libet output to any Logitech Squeezebox players accessible on your network, provided they both share an (near-) identical music library.

Supports play / pause / shuffles. Sync is faked (ie not real-time) but allows you to control your music remotely using the power of the QL browsing / searching / playlists.

Website search

Simple plugin to search websites (with some examples) for results based on any of the tags in your songs. Use it to look up information on artists, or find links to albums on popular search sites.

Auto Library Update

This feature, available for Linux only, uses inotify (via pyinotify) to receive updates on the library directory/ies and filter them for changes relevant to QL. This means you can now copy / move /delete files and folders within your library directory and have searches and playlists reflect this immediately. Furthermore, active searches will automatically show the new results where relevant.

Note that though now fairly stable, this plugin is still considered beta (please report any bugs in the usual place).

OS X Keys

The osxmmkey plugin adds support for media keys on macs. When enabled, the standard play / next / previous buttons control Quod Libet the way you'd expect.
