At first, try this: 1) select all songs in library (preferably several thousand) 2) right-click and select "Download album art" 3) have fun and watch as hundreds of windows pop up and make your desktop unusable What I expected: download missing albums automatically in the background. A workaround: use Amaroks automated, non-interactive cover download, and copy all the files with the copycover2 script (found at kde-apps).

Here is a little commandline tool that downloads all missing covers. It demonstrates the algorithm - use as you please.

I ran into this today. If all your albums are missing cover art, the natural thing to do is select "All albums", and right click on "Donwload album art". This instantly makes your computer unusable!

As I see it, there are two requests here: 1. An offline album art downloader - solutions as per (untested) patch, and indeed other programs. 2. A warning / limit based on numbers of windows spawned I've started on a patch for 2, for the more general case (this is also an issue with other songsmenu plugins, e.g. ReplayGain)
