Google Quick Search Box Terms and Conditions

The Google Quick Search software developed by Google is licensed under the BSD License. Other software included in this distribution is provided under other licenses, as listed in the Included Software and Licenses section at the bottom of this page. Source code for software included in this distribution is available from the Google Quick Search (found at http://code.google.com/p/qsb-mac) project or as otherwise indicated at the bottom of this page.

Please note that the executable version of Google Quick Search distributed by Google will communicate with Google's servers to check for available updates. If updates are available, you will receive the option to install them. Also, this version gives you the option to help improve Google Quick Search by reporting usage stats back to Google. These usage stats do not include personal information such as your name, email address, Google Account information, or websites you visit. BSD License

Usage Statistics

Information we collect

Your copy of Google Quick Search Box includes a unique application number. This number and information about your installation (e.g., operating system type, version number) will be sent to Google when you first install and use it and when Google Quick Search Box automatically checks for updates.

If you choose to opt in to "Improve Google Quick Search Box", Google may collect, together with the unique application number, a limited number of non-personal usage statistics. The non-personal usage statistics include summary information such as your operating system type, the number of searches you do, the time it takes for you to see your results.

Uses

We use this information to deliver the best possible service to you, such as improving the Google Quick Search Box user experience and providing automatic updates of new versions of Google Quick Search Box.

Your choices

You can choose to opt-out from "Improve Google Quick Search Box" during installation and you can change your mind at any time from the Google Quick Search Box Preferences menu.

You can uninstall the Google Quick Search Box by dragging it to Trash any time.
