issue 32 (First-use deleted all non-"keep until I delete" recordings.) reported by wls508   -   When I fired up pytivox for the first time to stream a video from my Mac, everything looked fine and all my various yellow and yellow-! recordings were in my Now Playing list. When I began streaming the video, the streaming worked fine. Since I was just testing it out, I backed out of the streaming test by hitting the Tivo button on the remote. I drilled back into the Now Playing and that's when I saw that everything that I hadn't explicitly set to "Keep until I delete" had been deleted. I had plenty of free space to begin with, and after the wipe, I had about 80GB free (I have a stock Tivo HD). None of the recordings were in my Deleted folder, so I appear to have simply lost them...grrrr. I've retraced my steps several time now trying to get it to delete things again (I've got a few suggestions recorded again), but haven't been able to get it delete everything again. I'm running OS X 10.5.8 and pytivox 1.3. What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. 2. 3. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Please provide any additional information below.

issue 29 (Feature request: add dvdvideo plugin to play direct from VID...) commented on by br...@iacta.com   -   It is possible to add it yourself, but the problem is that the configuration file is overwritten by pytivox. Maybe an additional enhancement is including an area in the gui to include custom configuration information that will be written into pytivox's pyTivo.conf. This would allow people to add plugins.

issue 30 (TiVo stops finding pytivox) commented on by rick.kaye   -   The first thing I did when encountering this problem was to click on Check For Updates in pytivox. It reported that I was Up To Date. I just looked at the download page and see that 1.3 came out of beta in July. So, the first thing I'll point out is that Check For Updates code doesn't seem to be distinguishing a beta release from a final release. Second, I'll now download the final release and see if that fixes my problem. I'll report back.

issue 30 (TiVo stops finding pytivox) reported by rick.kaye   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? I have pytivox configured to share 3 folders with my 2 TiVoHDs. Streambaby is turned off. When I start pytivox, everything works fine. I can see the shared folders from both of the TiVos. After a few hours, when I go back to the Now Playing list on the TiVos, The shared folders do not show up on the Now Playing list. When this happens, pytivox still appears to be running on the Mac. I can open it's configuration window. If I quit and restart pytivox, the TiVos can then see the shared folders. I have tried rebooting the computer and the same problem occurs. This problem started about a week ago. Up until then, the exact same setup was working fine for months. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? I am running pytivox version 1.3b6 on an iMac running OS X version 10.5.8. I have 2 TiVoHDs I am attaching a copy of my pytivo.log file. I would appreciate any help.

issue 21 (Current release doesn't launch in Snow Leopard Dev Preview) commented on by cmerkel   -   What's the status of this bug? Snow leopard has been out for awhile now - I really benefit from using this program, and I'd like to see it updated to work with SL. FWIW, I've tried running the beta and release (1.3) versions. Both behave similarly - the icon appears in the dock, but no UI appears. The process monitor shows 3 threads starting, then back down to 2, where it sits. Launching it from the terminal, I get: $ ./pyTivoX & [1] 10741 2009-11-25 22:58:09.574 pyTivoX[10741:903] Updating launch stuff 2009-11-25 22:58:09.584 pyTivoX[10741:903] Adding startup item 2009-11-25 22:58:09.826 pyTivoX[10741:903] Starting pyTivo 2009-11-25 22:58:09.828 pyTivoX[10741:903] Starting StreamBaby Should there be more dubug messages afterward? Is there any other debugging information I can submit?

issue 29 (Feature request: add dvdvideo plugin to play direct from VID...) reported by cinnamonhaha   -   Someone has written a pytivo plugin to support playing videos directly from ripped DVD's (VIDEO_TS files). It would be great if this could be added to pyTivoX. I'm thinking of archiving my DVD's, and I'd really like to be able to store them in a (relatively) lossless format.

issue 28 (HD Matroska Transcoding Fails) commented on by thedavidbry   -   Replying to the comment by infinitespecter, I'm running Leopard (10.5) and I do occasionally encounter HD MKVs that will not transfer. The blue light on the Tivo HD lights up for a second, then stops. Only appears to be with certain MKVs because some transfer just fine (have not had any stop halfway through though). I agree that I don't think I've encountered this with older versions on pyTivox, just in the most recent release

issue 27 (Keeps disappearing from Tivo's Network needing restarts of P...) reported by johnzeus   -   This issue has been longstanding through many version of PytivoX I've used. I have pytivox running permanently in the top right hand task bar of my Mac. After waking my Mac Mini from sleep, when I try to access the Streambaby part of pytivox via "Music,Photos, showcases" my Mac doesn't appear in the list. After quitting Pytivox and restarting it, boom the computer instantly appears on the Tivo. This is reproducible every time and has been happening for months despite upgrading to the latest pytivo versions including beta. I'm running Mac OS 10.6.1, PytivoX 1.3 latest. Airport Extreme Basestation Happy to help out with this issue as it's driving me NUTS.

issue 26 (Broken image icons displayed instead of pics (and no images)...) reported by techworkspro   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Click '+' in pyTivoX screen. 2. Select a folder containing images to add using dialog. Change type to Photo. Folder appears in Menu. 3. Click Apply. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? pictures (.jpg, .png formats in 1920x1080 format) expected. Broken screen icons displayed instead with titles of pics, correct number of them. Clicking them shows broken icon (same as thumbnail). Icon does change momentarily while loading- from blank with color > in it, to broken image icon. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? pyTivoX 1.3, version Mac OS X 10.6.1 Please provide any additional information below. Music shared by same method as above works fine. Is it perhaps the file type or formatting that is not accepted? If so what types of images can I stream? Same problem with movies- what type of format is usable? Streaming to HD Tivos (2). Had both Streambaby, and classic enabled, then same result with only SB. The above relates to Streambaby shared files only (Beta?).

issue 25 (Feature request: (optional) sort alphabetically for pyTivo s...) reported by tsaling   -   pyTivo has an available per-video-share option "force_alpha=true" that tells pyTivo to sort the videos alphabetically instead of the default sort by last modified date. At present pyTivoX has no way to allow a user to enable this without manually editing the ~/Library/Application Support/pyTivoX/pyTivo.conf file. Please consider adding a "Sort by filename" checkbox in the pyTivo preferences, to match the one already available in the streambaby preferences. Thanks!

issue 24 (iTunes TV shows are transferring with series name, not file ...) commented on by johnny9k   -   I just discovered that the iTunes name is in the description for some shows. Example: I use TV Shows in iTunes to organize my videos. I have a "show" called Kid Movies with all the kids stuff. These show up in Now Playing as "Kid Movies" but the description has the iTunes name (ie "Bionicle 2"). This is the name I gave it on the Info tab in iTunes. Other shows like Pokemon show up as "Pokemon" in Now Playing and the description is also "Pokemon" even though the name on the Info tab in iTunes is "Pokémon SE3 EP133 - Fighting Flyer with Fire". I see the same thing with all shows that I don't rename in the info tab. I'll play around some more and see if the problem is the length of the name or something else.

issue 24 (iTunes TV shows are transferring with series name, not file ...) reported by johnny9k   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Transfer a show from iTunes TV Show folder What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect to see the show file name, either in Now Playing or in the show details. Instead I see just the Series name and have no way of knowing which episode it is. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? pyTivoX 1.3 Snow Leopard 10.6 Please provide any additional information below. The TV Shows used to transfer with the file name, but after upgrading both Snow Leopard and pyTivoX it started to transfer the shows with the Series name only. This would be great if it would then group the shows on the Tivo and have the filename available in the shows description. Otherwise I'd rather just have the filename.

issue 22 (Feature: Start at boot instead of start at login) reported by jerem...@mac.com   -   The Mac in my living room is a multi-user system. More often than not the kids are logged in instead of my account. Current version has an option to start at login. It would be nice to also have an option to start at boot. Should be able to individually select whether to start pyTiVo or StreamBaby or both. I've already created a launchd property list for StreamBaby but it would be nice to have it as a GUI option.

issue 21 (Current release doesn't launch in Snow Leopard Dev Preview) Status changed by yoav.yerushalmi   -   Well, I'm not a paying apple developer and do not have access to the latest snow leopard, so probably won't be able to fix it until it's officially released. I'll leave the issue as 'open' and hopefully it will get fixed when I can get my hands on snow leopard.
    Status: Accepted

issue 21 (Current release doesn't launch in Snow Leopard Dev Preview) commented on by the1jon   -   Sure. It appears to launch and shows up bouncing in the dock for about 30 seconds then stops, but no icon appears in the menu bar and the Force Quit window states the application is not responding.

issue 20 (Files won't transfer) Status changed by yoav.yerushalmi   -   There is an issue with the mainline release of pyTivoX that is triggered when files are viewed in a flat hierarchy (this is a bug from pytivo). Try installing the beta instead. The code in the beta fixes the problem.

issue 20 (Files won't transfer) reported by rick.kaye   -   I have been using PyTivoX for months with no problem although while it had been running for the past several weeks, I had not transferred anything recently. A couple of days ago a problem developed. I navigated from the Now Playing list on my TiVo HD to a video on my Mac. I selected the video to be transferred but when I hit the Select button the video did not transfer. I eventually backed out of the TiVo transfer screen and the TiVo now reported that the folder was empty although a check of my computer revealed that the video was still there. I have tried several videos including ones that had previously transferred without problem and I am unable to transfer any of them. I tried reinstalling PyTivoX and rebooting my TiVo. I have 2 TiVo HDs and I tried both of them. I still can't transfer any of them. The only thing I can think of that changed recently is that I upgraded my Mac to 10.5.7. Attached is my pytivo.log. Can anyone tell what is wrong?

issue 19 (Failure while fetching movie details) commented on by yoav.yerushalmi   -   I think for some reason your browser is using an old cached version.. try using 'pyTivox... check for updates' and see if that gives you an update? It's definitely 1.3b4 that you need.
