Introduction

OpenCalais is a web-service provided by Thomson Reuters. It offers a programatically accessable API for analyzing text and extracting semantic information from it in the form of entities and relations between them. The extracted information is then returned in a variety of computer-readable formats.

OpenCalais is great, I use it in a new website I created recently : http://www.klezio.com News are automatically classified and news metadata extracted ; Contextual information is fetched from apps such as wikipedia, flickr, twitter or delicious.
