Breezy

Mac OS X Desktop Installer and Package Manager

Introduction

Breezy is a Mac OS X application for installation of the pxl package manager, as well as managing packages directly from the your Mac. It can prepare stock phones for use, or add the PXL system to modified phones.

For installing apps on your phone Over-The-Air via Wifi or EDGE directly from the Web, check out the PXLMobileSafariPlugin in Downloads.

Details

Current Release 20070908 now works with iTunes 7.4.x. PXL packages of the most popular iPhone apps available can be found at http://pxl.ibrickr.com/ and can be installed via Breezy on Mac OS X, iBrickr on Windows, or directly from your PXL enabled iPhone via the PXLMobileSafariPlugin.

Please Note: As announced, we are moving toward the AppTapp Open Platform in partnership with Nullriver, and merging features and functionality.

New features and functionality will be implemented in our joint venture app. Please see the apptapp site for more details as they become available.

Where do I download Breezy. Last download says deprecated. So whats replacing it?

Comment by rjberger, Sep 07, 2007

Yes, with what is going on with installer.app, it would seem that a lot of people will be wanting to check out the open source alternative. Yet there is little or no info on Breezy here, let alone the actual download seems to have disapeared.

I have an app that's only available in PXL package right now, and Breezy kinda sorta doesn't do anything. It installs the PXL Service, apparently, and when I run the app I see my iPhone... but I can't install any software. The Command-I "Install" command doesn't bring up any dialog box and there's no other way to install things I can find.

I appreciate all the hard work that's apparently gone into this, but I can't help but feel just a wee bit frustrated right now.

I'm using Mac and got the same problem like "hopetown". Help!

Comment by hopetown, Sep 25, 2007

sihjun.yan! I found this to work!

NEW DIRECTIONS:

• Unplug iPhone • Restart your computer • Once restarted, open iTunes • Plug in your iPhone and cancel anything that may open. • Hold the power button on your iPhone until it goes off • Then turn it on • When you see the apple logo, press and hold both the power and home buttons • Continue to hold until you see the yellow triangle(your iPhone may restart during this, just keep holding) • In iTunes, it will ask if you want to restore or something, hit restore • iTunes will run some things that will allow your phone to restore.

In the future, also, I would completely delete breezy and any other applications you were using, and re-download.

Let me know if this works ok! robbie - rtbethel@yahoo.com

To those having problems: my understanding is that iTunes 7.4.2 broke Breezy. So you may want to wait for the "unified solution" that's being worked on now. (Hope it comes soon; there are some things that I want to install that are only available in .PXL format!)

will breezy work for itunes 7.5.1?

Comment by georgemolson, Sep 07, 2008

Man, I think that Mac F--ked something up when they upgraded iTunes. I had a perfectly good unlocked, jailbreaked, etc. phone and then I updated itunes and I can't even get out of recovery mode now.
