HowTo: Install PRO CFW on your PSP
Featured, Phase-Deploy
Updated Apr 15, 2012 by gentlema...@gmail.com

Introduction

Before installing, you need to make sure your PSP is compatible.

At the time of writing this article, PRO CFW supports 4 different PSP Kernel.

  • 6.20
  • 6.35
  • 6.39
  • 6.60

If your PSP runs a firmware, lower or equal to 6.60, your PSP should be compatible to PRO CFW.

Should your PSP run a firmware, lower than your target PRO Base Kernel Version, grab and install the appropriate Update File from the mirror chart below.

Version UMD Models GO Model
6.20 DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD
6.35 DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD
6.39 DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD
6.60 DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD

Installation

You read the introduction and now know your PSP is compatible to PRO CFW. Now it's time to install the Aftermarket Firmware Modules into your system.

Grab the latest binary release from the Google Code Download Page and unpack it. You will find two (or three, if you got the 6.20 / 6.39 / 6.60 version) folders of interest which you will use to install and operate the Aftermarket Firmware.

  1. Copy all of them onto your PSP inside the PSP/GAME subfolder and disconnect your PSP from PC.
  2. Start the PROUPDATE Executable to install the Aftermarket Modules, delete it afterwards, you won't need it again unless you wish to uninstall PRO CFW again.
  3. If you are running the 6.20 Kernel Version of PRO CFW, you can, if you wish to, execute the 620PRO_Permanent executable, to install a custom bootloader to automatically load and execute Aftermarket Modules for you when you turn on your PSP, afterwards, delete this executable aswell, unless you wish to uninstall the bootloader again.
  4. The same applies for 6.39 / 6.60 Kernel Version of PRO CFW, but using the CIPLFlasher application.

Note: Holding L Button during installation will reset your configuration to default and rewrite all the Aftermarket Modules.

Daily Use

You have installed the PRO CFW Aftermarket Modules on your PSP as described above. Now it's time to learn how to use it efficiently.

After the installation, you will be QuickStarted into the CFW environment automatically, however, in the future you will have to boot it manually every time you shutdown and restart your PSP.

Due to the PSPs security design, it's not possible for all PRO CFW versions to QuickBoot automatically everytime you turn on your system.

This is only possible if your PSP is compatible to the 6.20 / 6.39 / 6.60 PRO CFW version and only if you installed the optional 6.20 PRO Bootloader or CIPL.

All other PRO revisions need to be QuickStarted manually by executing the FastRecovery application.

Once executed, PRO CFW will remain active until you shutdown your PSP system.

Summed up, if you restart your PSP, it will be back in OFW mode and behave just like every other normal PSP until you QuickStart it back into CFW mode.

I have a psp 2000 running 6.39 OFW and never been hacked.Do i need to have a pandora's battery/magic mem stick to run this or doijust follow your directions verbatim? thanks -J

Comment by rodolfo....@gmail.com, May 30, 2011

No it is not necesary. Pandora battery died with this CFW you just run it and that´s all.

I take a moment to say to all people out there asking if it will work on their psps: YES! IT RUNS ON IT. IT RUNS ON EVERY SINGLE PSP MODEL OUT THERE!. Phew... I had to say that someday.

P.D.:English is my second language. Don´t comment about its horrible grammar or spelling.

Comment by michaeld...@gmail.com, May 30, 2011

Rodel, thanks for clarifying that for other people. Also, your spelling and grammar is much better than most people who have English as their 1st language.

Hi there! I'm new in the scene, and I´ve never been hacked my psp, so I have a stupid question: I must put the ISO/CSO images in the root of the MS?, or I should create a folder called "ISO" or "CSO" for it? or I must put teh image files in the PSP/GAME folder? thanks! and congrats for your excellent job!

Comment by reine...@gmail.com, May 31, 2011

Great guys! Congratulations for the job! It works perfectly! Thank you!

Comment by King.Tes...@gmail.com, May 31, 2011

Wow so I take a year break from paying attention to the scene and then all of a sudden I come back to finding there has been about 8 months of coding miracles. Guess I was a bit too patient :x Thanks for the hard work guys :)!

I have already 6.20 PRO-B5 what i should do to instal PRO-B6?My psp is a 2000 model.

Comment by blueice...@yahoo.com, May 31, 2011

I tried to install the update, but the screen went black for a long time that I had to use the power button I have a 3004 with 6.20, I tried pro-b5, pro-B6 and faced this issue. Formatted the MS, and still got the same blank screen. Moved to OFW 6.35, and tried install the PRo-B6 version of that running the updatepro and got the same blank screen... Was advised to turn backlight auto adjust off, but it is already off, tried switching it on, then off as well. Same result. I am using the UPDATEPRO folder for that OFW version. I noticed 2 files that get created with each attempt installer.prx and Rebootex.prx In each attempt the PSP start loading and then goes blank, the ms would indicate some activity for few seconds then everything freeze with the blank screen still on. Waited like 20 min the used the power button to switch it on and off... Any advice? Please? Help !

Comment by johns6...@gmail.com, May 31, 2011

the files people use for umd psps are backwards compatible with go models

"I have already 6.20 PRO-B5 what i should do to instal PRO-B6?My psp is a 2000 model."

I did. It was painless, just put the Proupdater on the Memstick, run it, press X to install and voila. I didn't even have to reinstall the perma-patch.

Comment by clemson....@gmail.com, Jun 1, 2011

Two quick questions. First, is there any benefit to updating to 6.39 from 6.20?

And secondly, will anyone patch FuSa? to be compatible with 6.20+? They dropped their support of the project, and I really want to be able to play TV out in full screen..

Comment by carlilel...@gmail.com, Jun 2, 2011

what about TA88v3? I know you said every model, but this is a special case

Comment by TheSaint...@gmail.com, Jun 3, 2011

So does this allow you to download free games for your psp and play them ?

Comment by johns6...@gmail.com, Jun 3, 2011

When i turn on my psp with 6.39 I use usb connection and get ms0 but when i run fast recovery and enter usb mode i get flash0 is this normal

Comment by trinit...@gmail.com, Jun 5, 2011

@carlilel... I trusted on the message above that this works on any PSP and so I installed 6.20 PRO-B6 on my PSP 2g with mobo TA88v3 and it worked, however I think I may have found a bug. Without the perma patch (which I haven't installed) when looking at the whatchumycallit menu (pressing "Select"), if you have the menu up and then you press "O" the psp will freeze into a black screen immediately and that's it, you have to reboot. After running PRO-B Fast Recovery, it's working normal again... so there you have it... Thanks to the devs for the great work and continues develoment! Very appreciated! Keep up the great work....

What exactly happens to the patched OFW modules once you uninstall PRO CFW using the PROUPDATE Executable? Will they go back to their original state as if you had not installed PRO CFW?

Does installing an OFW after having installed PRO CFW on a PSP have the same effect as uninstalling PRO CFW using the PROUPDATE Executable? Can you revert a PSP to its original state, with only OFW files on its flash memory partitions and Reboot sector, after having installed PRO CFW on it?

The reason for this questions is that users of PRO CFW might want to revert their PSP to its original state before sending it to Sony for warranty service, and avoid a refusal of service from Sony by saying that they voided the warranty of their PSP by installing a CFW on it. Could they prove this fact by finding traces of such CFW on the system even after successfully uninstalling it?

Comment by brutefor...@gmail.com, Jun 8, 2011

@comment above

No Mate. NO OFW modules were patched when installing PRO.

The modules that were added ie. systemctrl.prx is just to patch the security check and run extra features and load other unsigned modules.

PRO never patches any OFW modules...the patch only works in memory(RAM)... If what you said happens then everyone who has pro installed have BRICKed their Precious...

Sony can't find it unless they dig in to your psp with their unleaked tools...unlikey to happen mate.BTW if you send it to them they will always update to the latest firmware at the moment"6.39"(but atm we can all downgrade without a problem).

IF you want to revert back to OFW without pro then run PROUPDATE and uninstall by pressing TRIANGLE. If you have 6.20 PERMANENT PATCH then i suggest UPDATING to 6.35...I have other tricks to avoid bricks like you can run a 6.20 UPDATE while in 6.20 PRO-B6(Official release) and doing so reflashes OFW files to the NAND without getting BSODs when your PSP restarts after finishing the update.

Good luck!

how do i run umd video ISOs? i added it to the ISO folder and it doesn't come up, all games do but not UMD video. I'm running 6.39 pro-b6

Comment by brutefor...@gmail.com, Jun 8, 2011

@Video UMD Mount Question

Make a Folder inside the ISO folder called VIDEO then put your umd video rips there.

note: to activate UMD video rips from the XMB: press select and go down to ISO Video Mount; then scroll using left and right button once you have chosen the MOVIE press X or Circle then your PSP will restart with the UMD VIDEO mounted under VIDEO.

have fun with your legally own Video rips. :D

Comment by cont...@juanbernal.net, Jun 8, 2011

I'm also running 6.39 PRO-B6 on PSP-3000 4g and my PRO VSH Menu doesn't have the option for ISO Video Mount. Do I have to install a plugin for it to be enabled? I googled it and only found info regarding CFW 3.71m33-4 which obviously doesn't apply here.

Comment by lexbo...@gmail.com, Jun 9, 2011

Great man. you are a good teacher. Mine is working now. Thank you.

Comment by darkshin...@gmail.com, Jun 9, 2011

just like cont...@juanbernal.net said, there is no video mount in the vsh menu on 6.39 pro b-6.

oh my cfw is running a 3g kernel on a psp 3000.

Comment by brutefor...@gmail.com, Jun 9, 2011

@darkshin

Oh sorry mate :)

I was assuming you had a clone to PRO's source(latest revision)...and Compile it on your own.

You probably have the original 6.20 PRO-B6(It doesn't have UMD Video mount).

Comment by darkshin...@gmail.com, Jun 9, 2011

you mean the nightly build one? from what i understood psp 3000s and Go models run risk of bricking, i never took a second look when i read that.

my psp is my baby :)

Comment by brutefor...@gmail.com, Jun 9, 2011

@darkshin

no not the nightly build one? I think it was last weeks or was it this Monday's revision that I compiled...I honestly don't remember.

all I know is that the revision I compiled was before the inferno bug fix by hramfaxi, after coldbird's code merge, and neur0n was added to the group. and renamed the owners to TEAM PRO.

Comment by darkshin...@gmail.com, Jun 9, 2011

does the monday rev. one have the umd mount option and is it stable on psp 3000 3g?

Hello,

This is my first time hacking my PSP as well, so I have a question. I downloaded the 6.39 UMD version for my PSP 3001, and according to the instructions I should have two folders after I unpack the 7z file. However, I only see one folder named "UPDATE" which contains a 30MB file called "EBOOT.PDP". Is this all I need? I'm a bit confused.

Thanks,

J

Comment by hiry...@gmail.com, Jun 13, 2011

@iamselli - It's possible using plugin's (tried but didn't work for me) and using apps. For 3xxx app is called UMDumper 0.30 D. WARNING After dumping your UMD connect PSP to PC and change iso name as it will have one additional character (looks like square). Then it should work via Inferno driver

Can anyone can describe me differences between M33driver and Inferno? :)

btw I'm on 6.39 4g PSP-3004 and don't have ISO Video Mount in PRO VSH Menu :) Not a biggie but I think authors forgot to put in in released files :)

If I can help any how please tell me :)

Comment by peterpa...@gmail.com, Jun 14, 2011

Hi, hoping someone can be kind enough to help. I am trying to hack a PSP 2000 running 6.37, all standard and never hacked before. I am trying to download this patch, and I essentially copy over the 639PRO_B6 Folder folder to the memory stick and...nothing. I have the 639PRO_B6 Folder folder and another folder called UPDATE into which I have copied the PROUPDATE eboot file (since it's frankly not made clear at any point what or how I should proceed, to be honest, you guys are worse than Linus users).

When I put the memory stick into the PSP and hit the O key I can see one movie there plus an icon for Corrupted Data, and I can't access it. So my question is, how do I load the custom firmware, how do I get past the "corrupted data" problem, and could the existence of these errors possibly be forseen by the people writing the above guide so that, you know, the large number of people who don't know what they're doing will know what to do next.

I hear random talk of recovery mode and so on, is there some other way I'm supposed to let the PSP know it should load or otherwise interact with the firmware files?

Comment by onhe...@gmail.com, Jun 14, 2011

you first have to update to 6.39 of which eboot.pbp can be downloaded from sony.

6.39proupdate(installer) uses the explot of 6.39 firmware. so this hack doesnt function at other firmware. i think it's your "corrupted data" problem.

Comment by AngolM...@gmail.com, Jun 21, 2011

first time for this kinda cfw thing, so if your psp is official firmware 6.20 and you want get update it to 6.39 pro, you have to update to OFW 6.39 first then change it to 6.39 pro? and you cannot be 6.20 -> 6.20 pro -> 6.39 pro??? like example if now i get it to 6.39 pro, and in future if there is a 6.45 pro release, i have to change it to: 6.39 pro -> 6.45(OFW) -> 6.45 pro???

Comment by onhe...@gmail.com, Jun 21, 2011

OFW UPDATE first, PROUPDATE second. It seems same in the future.

OK, so I have a psp 3000 with 6.35 ofw. when I got it last week from a friend, it already had a program called "635 HEN by Coldbird & VF" which I have to run every time I turn on the PSP to change it to 6.35 PRO. What I don't know is if this program was already installed at first and this thing I have to run is like the Fast Recovery mentioned on the tutorial. If that's the case, can I install 6.35 PRO b7 even if I have this other cfw already installed?

hoping for answers!!

Comment by amiaca...@gmail.com, Jun 29, 2011

I get an error saying this program does not support my fw? any ideas?

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jun 29, 2011

@404ad...@gmail.com Yes you can download the PRO-B7 In the 6.35 PRO folder. you can find 3 folders the PRO Update, sdk and Fast Recovery. All you have to do is to place the PRo Update folder and Fast recovery at MSO/PSP/GAME. After you copied to you memory stick unplug your usb cable from the PC and then go to the XMB of your PSP, just choose game and hit the PRO update and follow the instruction to install the PRo update for PRO-B7. After you successfully installed the PRO-B7 delete it and fast recovery should remain it because there is a time that your PSP will Boot to OFW you can only hit the fast recovery to recover your PRO-B7 installed.

@amiaca...@gmail.com

Please state the error of your PSP please give the version of your PSP and the model also

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jun 29, 2011

@xRe...@gmail.com

Yes you can update to the and much better because it built in ISO/CSO and PSX

Guide in installing 6.20, 6.35 and 6.39 PRO CFW

1. Please check your version and model(PSP 1000,2000,3000 and go) 2. Well my question is, I have a PSP 1000 with 5.50 gen d3, in order to use 6.39 pro, do I have to upgrade first to Sony OFW 6.39 and then use the 6.39 pro files in order to use this CFW, and also what are the advantages and disadvantages between the 2,please reply, I will really appreciate it, regards.

Comment by hiry...@gmail.com, Jul 4, 2011

03g, 04g are hardware generations. And btw - CIPL will NOT work on 6.39 Pro-B7 PSP 300X (04g) - tried ;) So comment above is not correct.

I would like to ask developers or someone with enough knowledge - is there a way to use CFW PSP to connect it to PS2 (two ;) and read memory card data? It could lead not only to easy back-up/recovery save files but more over with write mode it could lead to put memory card exploit on PS2 and enjoy those games which Sony hasn't re-relased on PS3 :)

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 8, 2011

@PCDra...@gmail.com 03g and 04g means that is the type of your motherboard in PSP 3000. If you install the PRo CFW go to your settings to system and to your system information. Under that category you can see the MAC address its define of what mother board of your PSP.

@Vdahb...@gmail.com You have to install first the OFW 6.39 before you install the PRO cfw just follow the instructions above under my guideliness in installing PRO CFW. Your model will able to install the Full CFW.

@hiry...@gmail.com Read the guidelines carefully before you comment its in there ok in No. 6.

Comment by elmendor...@gmail.com, Jul 8, 2011

Quick question, my friend is trying to install this on his psp-go. Will the CIPL launcher start up the CFW every time it cold-boots like it does for my psp phat for his GO?

And does the GO have any limitations to what can be put on it after its hacked?

Comment by hiry...@gmail.com, Jul 8, 2011

@salve - Yes it is. But written using odd words imho ;)

In short - PSP's with motherboard v3 can't use perma or CIPL on software 6.39. Mine is 3004 4g , FW 6.39 and CIPL says it's not for my mobo :)

@elmendor - I'm not sure but you might need to run FastRecovery each time - which isn't a biggie ;)

To authors - with memory card speedup Crazy Taxi Fare Wars looses few frames - removing acceleration, or chaning it to VSH only fixes the problem :)

What about using CFW PSP to access PS2 and make it able to run back-up's? :)

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 10, 2011

@elmendor You can not install the CIPL flasher if you use PSP go because it will brick your PSP. PSP Go is not fully flashable. Use only the 6.20 permanent patch its better. But before you do that you have to downgarde your version if you are in 6.39. I will post the downgrader later.

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 10, 2011

@ hiry Your wrong mother board with PSP 2000 V3, PSP 3000 (03g and 04g) and PSP GO (05g)can install the permanent patch in 6.20 version "except 6.39 CIPL full CFW". Just read the instruction just go here all instruction you need for your PSP http://code.google.com/p/procfw/

Comment by hiry...@gmail.com, Jul 11, 2011

@Salve:

I've read the instructions, yet you have not. So I'll copy exact line and using mark important words.

In short - PSP's with motherboard v3 can't use perma or CIPL on software 6.39.

If you READ what I've written, you will see easily that I'm referring to OFW 6.39. I even added line about MINE own PSP which is on this FW. I haven't said PSP v3 on 6.20 can't use CIPL/perma! I've exactly said that PSP v3 running 6.39 CAN'T do that. Read before you start posting :)

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 11, 2011

@hiry In OFW 6.39 there is no perma patch of PRO only CIPL flasher (CIPL means full cfw and perma patch is only available at 6.20 version this cfw is only a temporary because the kirk keys was locked for PSP mother board V3 up. Im not saying that PSP 03g and 04g is ok to use the CIPL flasher. Sorry im just clearing. Look at your first comment you said that my comment is wrong about 03g and 04g mother board. Please visit this site for more added information http://wololo.net/talk

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 21, 2011

@IZH.aL0n...@gmail.com You can only know your version if you are in cfw mode. What version of your system is? You can download here its either 6.20 PRo, 6.35 PRO and 6.39 PRO. After you successfully installed it go to your system settings to system information and take a look under the mac address it will say what model do you have its either 03g, 04g, 05g (psp go), .07g and 09g

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 21, 2011

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 25, 2011

@lonewolf...@gmail.com go to download page and down load it either 6.20, 6.35 or 6.39 PRO. @akocma...@gmail.com Try this method. Take out your battery and put it back before you pu it on you have to press select, start, O,X,Triangle, and square. You have to press it all and you put it on. It goes back to the original firmware.

Thanx a million guys... This is running flawlessly on my PSP 3001 slim... All ISO loads so far and I can do full backups of my UMD's... Keep up the good work, your followers got your backs...

Comment by shirlon...@gmail.com, Jul 27, 2011

One problem... I have a 9g 3001 at 6.39 and the CFW would go back to OFW when ever the PSP reboots. Any permanent install for this Mobo type yet? Or am I missing out on something. It works fine after reboot on my God of War Edition 2001 Slim previously on M33 5.50 GEN-d3. Thanks in advance for the help.

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Jul 31, 2011

@shirlon...@gmail.com In 6.39 PRO there is no permanent patch (temporary CFW) its only a CIPL flasher full (CFW). You have to be carefull on that because you have a PSP 3001 brite so that is not fully hackable. If you want to have a perma patch in 6.20 PRO just use the downgrader by davee and some1 go to this site for more tutorial on how to use downgarder www.wololo.net/talk and go to downgrader section. But before you do that you have to check first your model if it is 03g, 04g, 07g 0r 09g. If you are in 6.39 PRO version,go to setting under system information and you can see the Name the version and what model do you have. Your PSP 2001 slim is a fully hackable so it can install Light CFW and Full CFW anytime. Hope it can help...

Comment by salve...@gmail.com, Aug 2, 2011

In addition to shirlon you have 9g so you can not use the downgrader to 6.20 PRo you can only downgrade to 6.35 and upper version.

I have a question. I notice 6.35 PRO file size is smaller than others since B8. Is there anything specific why it's like that?

I do understand for no perm install on 6.35 but even compare to 6.39 and 6.60 PRO, the size is smaller. I'm curious why.

And just update directly to Pro-B9 without removing the permanent patch. But what if I want to uninstall the permanent patch. What permanent patch should I use Pro-B8's or Pro-B9's?

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Aug 26, 2011

I installed Pro B9 without reinstalling permanent patch again

I think the patch has not changed at all since before B8

It works perfectly for me

Just run installer Hold L trigger and press x will reinstall B9 and you should be done :)

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Aug 26, 2011

Yea I had no problems installing PRO-B9 over B8 without removing perm patch :) Just hold L trigger and hit x that easy

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Aug 26, 2011

The reason for L trigger I did not uninstall PRO-B8 I just installed over it with B9

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Aug 26, 2011

They should work the same on both versions so what ever is easiest for you to put on MS

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Aug 26, 2011

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Sep 4, 2011

Download this http://psp.dashhacks.com/2011/09/01/psp-chronoswitch-downgrader-v5-released/

Put it in psp/games/Chronoswitch/EBOOT.PBP

Download firmware you want to go to

Put it in psp/games/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP

boot system goto downgreader in ms or ef games and boot it say yes to it and let it downgrade

once done you should be on new OFW

Then get the same CFW to match your OFW

Excuse me if I install the patch CIPL_Flasher over a console 9g (TA-088v3) what happens? Brick or error?

In the "System Information" MAC Address appears to me the words 9g. Indicates that I have a TA-088v3? A friend of mine is 1g.

Excuse me for the mistakes but my English is bad.

Comment by vladymae...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2011

09g its a permanent brick and cannot be fix even by a pandora don't install the CIPL_Flasher that is for 01g & some 02g psp only.

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Sep 13, 2011

The flasher will refuse to work anyway but if you are willing to downgrade with Chronoswitch Downgrader v5 and go 6.20 PRO then you can use perma patch and I have done it with 9g models :)

But the safest way is to just use FastRecovery if you turn you PSP off that is why if not perm then keep FastRecovery on MS

Comment by papero.i...@gmail.com, Sep 13, 2011

ok, thanks for the explanation, but if I have a 5g console can be installed the patch?

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Sep 13, 2011

yes i have a 5g but you have to use PRO-B9 6.20 and run perm patch you install PRO run perm press x after perm to check make sure everything seams fine in xmb then run perm again and on last prompt press o it should say installed patch then it will boot xmb after it will be perm you can shut down and boot to CFW no need for FASTRECOVER so delete it if all went well

I installed the pro b10 on my psp, but when I run god of war ghost of sparta gives error 80010002 and when I run final fantasy type-0, the game crashes on loading screen and restarts psp, what might be happening?

Comment by vladymae...@gmail.com, Oct 29, 2011

Is pro-b10 stable now is there changelogs out there.

Comment by vlad.mna...@gmail.com, Oct 31, 2011

I have 6.20 PRO-B6 on my 3000 version PSP. I got 6.60 Fix cfw and tried to install it. When I run updater it tells me "Sorry. This software does not support your firmware version". What am I doing wrong? Sorry, it's my first time updating firmware myself.

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Oct 31, 2011

Ok first if download 6.20 if perm remove perm first then uninstall 6.20 Then get Sony OFW update run it then get 6.60 PRO-B10 then install it to get 6.60

But if I was you I would just download and install 6.20 PRO-B10 so you can stay perm 6.60 has to use fastboot and 6.20 can still access PSN and works the same

Comment by vladi...@gmail.com, Oct 31, 2011

can somebody help me on aim, msn, steam, or skype? i have psp 3000 with 6.20 pro-b6. I don't know if permanent or not. I want to get at least 6.39, maybe 6.60. I don't know how to update from 6.20 pro-b6 to higher.

thanks.

Comment by vladi...@gmail.com, Oct 31, 2011

ok, i update to original 6.60, then i get 6.60 cfw and it works...i can play games on memory stick and everything. i restart psp and it's back to original 6.60 (non-cfw). D:

Comment by psxlo...@gmail.com, Oct 31, 2011

Why did you want to get 6.60? There is nothing new from 6.20. You'll have to run fast recovery every time you restart your psp.

Comment by vladi...@gmail.com, Oct 31, 2011

i wanted higher cfw than 6.38 because Breath of Fire IV PSN game requires 6.38 or 6.39 (don't remember). I now downgraded from 6.60 to 6.20 and will install 6.20 cfw. it seems there is no 6.39 permanent cfw nor 6.60 perma cfw. ): maybe someday?

Comment by psxlo...@gmail.com, Oct 31, 2011

Try using a custom version.txt

Comment by cpre...@gmail.com, Nov 1, 2011

I was kind of up set about this: my CFW stopped working, as in when I press fast recovery, it pauses and then shuts off. Detail: I cant reinstall it or uninstall and install, I've tried it already, and now all my games don't work.

Comment by zygi...@gmail.com, Nov 4, 2011

Maybe you upgraded from 6.39 PRO to an official 6.60, hence, even if you have FastRecovery in your PSP it doesn't have anything to recover. Go to System Settings > System Information to check if you're using PRO or official firmware.

If that's the problem, run 6.60 PRO-B10.fix ProUpdater? and install PRO.

Comment by aqili1...@gmail.com, Nov 6, 2011

i got prob with my psp...it is 6.60..OFW ithink.. i tried to install CFW many times (from many sources though)but it just doesnt work.. when i tried to run PROUPDATE,,the screen turn black(the green light still on).. after quite a while it just turn off..i donno why.. i never hav prob with cfw b4 when using 6.39.. the battery is full though..donno why it just shut down.. thank u in advance.. btw im using psp3000 with module 4g

Lots of questions! I have a PSP-3001 with official firmware version 6.60, does this work for it? Are there other details I should know about my PSP before trying this out? Are there things I will not be able use do if I install Custom Firmware, like going to the PSN Store?

I read above that when you install the PRO-CFW on the PSP and turn it off and turn it on again, it won't be there? Is that a problem, how does it work? I don't quite understand the instructions, is there a video tutorial anywhere?

Comment by psxlo...@gmail.com, Nov 10, 2011

Just run the PROupdate for 6.60 the first time to install it. Then whenever you restart your PSP you'll have to run fastrecovery to enable it.

Comment by privep...@gmail.com, Nov 10, 2011

I'm sorry but I'm REALLY new to this. I just bought a PSP 3004 with version 4.21 installed on it. From what I understood, I can run anything from the above tutorial since my firmware is lower, right?

I also saw another hack called ChickHEN R2, and I really don't know which is better now?

I would really appreciate it if someone can give me some suggestions and help here.

Thanks in advance

I've got a PSP Go running 6.60 PRO-B9. Downloaded the ISOs but shows corrupted data. Tried making an ISO folder (both in ROOT and in GAME.) It either shows "corrupted data" while in GAME folder or nothing at all if in ROOT. Tried it either way, got nothing useful. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Nov 10, 2011

@prive

Really up to you what you want to run I prefer PRO myself you could also run ME

@Deep

it is suppose to be on root for iso BTW FOLDER x:\ISO make sure it is psp game and in iso or cso form and I would upgrade to B10

Comment by Tetsam...@gmail.com, Nov 11, 2011

So I just installed 6.20 Pro-B fix. It works and plays games great. But for some reason I can't exit my games normally. Whenever I'm done playing a game, I press the PSP/Home button, then choose Exit game. The PSP goes to a black screen, hangs there and then it shuts down. I tried changing up the UMD IISO mode between M33 Driver, Inforno and the Sony one and none of them fix the problem. I finally upgraded from my 5.50 Prometheus and I install this since this actually has a Permanent patch. So I finally could have a permanent Custom Firmware on my PSP 3000. I was still doing the whole Chicken Tiff thing after every time my PSP accidently shut down.

Comment by DeepR...@gmail.com, Nov 11, 2011

@randgalan

Thanks for the quick response. Got B10 now. Still trying to get ANY isos working. Assume you're right though...game probably isn't the right type of file...

Comment by Alex.Pag...@gmail.com, Nov 13, 2011

Do programs like CWCheat, Lion Editor (save editor for Final Fantasy War of Lions) and other cheating/save editing programs work with this type of Custom Firmware?

I have a PSP-3001 with 6.60 official and if they do work for it, I will install this CFW in an instant. My PSP is the one that came with the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep bundle.

Thankfully, I found a quick tutorial on YouTube?, BUT, what do I do after place the Fast Recovery in my PSP? How is it used? Does it activate automatically or by pressing L while starting the PSP? Or is it that it starts as Official Software and when you want to use unofficial programs and stuff you switch to the CFW by executing the Fast Recovery? Any details will be appreciated!

Comment by hyperkam...@gmail.com, Nov 14, 2011

I hope you guys have a tutorial if your already in your custom Aftermarket Firmware and wish to update to your latest Aftermarket Firmware... I have the PSP Go witch is 6.20 Pro-B9 with Permanent Patch and wish to update to your Latest 6.20 Pro-B10?? i have no idea how will i do this process.. and what step should i take.. all i see in your guide is if your running on the official firmware only..

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Nov 14, 2011

@hyper

It is real easy just put Proupdate on internal memory run update on install screen Hold L and hit x should update and go back to xmb

Comment by hyperkam...@gmail.com, Nov 14, 2011

@rand

So no need to uninstall just to be clear i just download the 6.20 Pro-B10 then run the Pro Update and install right away?? no uninstall needed and how about my Permanent Patch from 6.20 Pro-B9? will it overwrite when i run the 6.20 Pro-B10 Update or do i need to Re-permanent Patch my system again using the Pro-B10?? and how about the Fast Recovery.. do i need to reinstall this also?? and when doing an update do i need the "vshorig.prx" on the root of the system right??

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Nov 14, 2011

Just run the installer and update by holding L trigger and then push x No need to redo perm have updated my 6.20 go almost every change no problems :)

Comment by avatary1...@gmail.com, Nov 16, 2011

I have 3 questions to ask. Now I'm using FW6.39 PSP-300x with PRO-B6 running on it. 1. What's the different between B6 and B10? I can't find any changes log. 2. Should I update to PRO-B10? 3. If I update to B10, do I need to remove plugin or uninstall CFW? or just put B10 in to Game folder and run Proupdate. 4. What are known issues for B10? Is there any risk? I came across Issues tracker and got confused.

Thanks for answers :)

Comment by avatary1...@gmail.com, Nov 16, 2011

I think I don't need to delete plugins, just disable plugin before update. Am I right?

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Nov 16, 2011

You should be fine to jump from B5 to B10 no problems and it would be safest to disable plugins yes then try them one at a time to see if still compatible

Just run installer Hold L trigger and hit x and update as simple as that Most changes are improvements and bug fixes

Can anyone tell me how to play PSX games on 6.60? i copied the .iso to my psp go but it won't appear :(

Comment by psxlo...@gmail.com, Nov 21, 2011

You can't play psp isos. You have to make an eboot out of them (search on google there are a lot of programs and pages that explain how to use them) and then put that in a subfolder under Games folder (think it's /PSP/GAMES not sure though).

Comment by piotrekhenry, Nov 21, 2011

@ Elitolu

First you need to download pops plugin and add-ons, fill them up with files YOU have to rip from FW by yourself because those files are copyrighted and the developers of Pops plugin cant provide them to you, after you have all the pops plugin files ready on your PSP you need to download and install a PSX iso to eboot converter on your PC, convert your PSX game iso to eboot, put it on your PSP in /PSP/GAME/GAMESUBFOLDER/ and enjoy playing.

You can find a tutorial on the whole process on the popsloader plugin development page.

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Nov 21, 2011

For every ones information PRO has built in pops and plays most converted PSX games you do not need pops loader unless you find a game that will not work so the above is only true for a small hand full of games usually you only need to convert and play :)

Comment by piotrekhenry, Nov 21, 2011

I am currently running 5.50 Prometheus on a PSP 1000...How to I change to this CFW? I tried to install the Official FW 6.60 first, but it wont let me.

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Nov 22, 2011

Ok if possible uninstall Prometheus if not make sure your version.txt is changed or delete it to 5.50 then try to upgrade official then install PRO

But if at all possible uninstall first less likely to cause you problems make sure all plugins are disabled in seplugins before you update to pro Connect to PC changing vsh.txt game.txt and pops.txt 1 to 0

Comment by PChuk...@gmail.com, Nov 27, 2011

can you tell me the steps for uninstalling PRO-B6 CFW..

Comment by piotrekhenry, Nov 27, 2011

If you installed permanent bootloader patch on 6.20 PRO-B6 then run the permanent bootloader patch Read if you have a question "Are you going to uninstall the patch?" and Press X to confirm that you want to uninstall the patch.

After you uninstall the permanent bootloader patch (or if you didnt install the permanent bootloader patch) run the PRO update and press the TRIANGLE button to uninstal PRO-B6 CFW.

Comment by PChuk...@gmail.com, Nov 27, 2011

And is that procedure the same with all the other PRO-B's... 10x a lot..

Yes.

No up no down no left no right u get the idea. It's like an invisible hold button which comes with your psp. Yes, already check that.

I have tried 6.20 pro b9, 6.60 pro b9 n 6.60 pro b10. All same problem. PLS HELP. Thanks >.< would even appreciate it if you could email me at hermitdudz@gmail.com

Comment by HermitD...@gmail.com, Nov 29, 2011

@julian press select at your xbm and the menu pops out. U can choose recovery mode there ^^

Comment by piotrekhenry, Nov 29, 2011

@ HermitD

Did you disable all plugins ? Did you uninstall CFW before you updated to 6.60 OFW ?

@ julianpe

What version of PRO ar you using ? If your not using 6.20 with permanent bootloader patch you need to run fast recovery every time you reboot your PSP to boot into CFW. While on CFW you can enter recovery menu just like HermitD said.

I'm unable to run RemoteJoyLite? v0.19 on 6.60 PRO B-10. Using PSP-2001. Model 02g I think, that's what the system information says when I load up B-10.

Well actually, RemoteJoyLite? works in the XMB, but it hangs when I load a game. Is there a way to get it to run properly?

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Dec 3, 2011

Maybe if you can recode remoteJoyLite I have not seen a release of RJL for 6.60

The RemoteJoyLite? v0.19 that I have works perfectly with my PSP-2001, Model 02g running 6.60 PRO-B10 on the XMB and while I play a games. On some games RJL won't work but I haven't come across any that don't work.

What could be the reason? Does anybody help in this regard?

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Dec 4, 2011

You do know that CIPL_Flasher only supports 1G and 2G models so will not work on that model so go with FastRecovery if you turn off psp or maybe roll back to 6.20 if you want a perm

i hv been reading most of the post here. my psp is 1001. this is my first im doing it. what is next after doing it? how can i back up my umd games? thanks to those who will be able to help me in advance...

Comment by piotrekhenry, Dec 4, 2011

1. Put the UMD inside your PSP. 2. Press SELECT while in XMB (to view the PRO VSH Menu). 3. Change "USB DEVICE" from "Memory Stick" to "UMD DISC". 4. Plug in your PSP to your PS using the USB cable. 5. Copy the .iso file to your PC. 6. Change back the USB device from "UMD DISC" to "Memory Stick" (so you can acces your Memory stick using the USB cable again). 7. You can play your backuped .iso games by placing them in /ISO/ folder on the root of your memory stick.

Comment by parehasn...@gmail.com, Dec 4, 2011

@piotrekh...hi thanks for the reply i did what i did as far as installation is concerned but when i am at provsh menu and change the usb device from MS to UMD then exit then the the usb cable to pc it say no memory stick inserted. although there is UMD disc inside. what went wrong? is there another third party software? pls reply asap. thanks again..

Comment by darius5...@gmail.com, Dec 6, 2011

soo, this is the thing, i'm new to getting cfw altogether, so i have a psp 2001 and updated it to sony's 6.60 ofw, so the question to clarify is, download 6.60 pro cfw, make a fldr on the psp called UPDATE and put eboot.pbp inside of it FROM the 6.60cfw fldr, then put the rest of that folder into PSP/GAME then run it? was that correctly stated?

Comment by piotrekhenry, Dec 6, 2011

No. You need the UPDATE folder for OFW. You simply put 6.60 PRO cfw Folders (Update and Fast recovery) in PSP/GAME. Then you run PRO Update and proceed with the on screen instructions. After you have updated to 6.60 PRO you will have to use Fast Recovery every time you completely shut down your PSP (lik removing the battery).

Comment by darius5...@gmail.com, Dec 6, 2011

where can i get the 6.60 ofw folder?

Comment by darius5...@gmail.com, Dec 6, 2011

Comment by darius5...@gmail.com, Dec 6, 2011

Comment by download...@gmail.com, Dec 6, 2011

follow my steps darius: 1.connect your psp at your pc 2.navigate to the PSP folder and open it 3.navigate to the GAME folder and open it 4.In the GAME folder put the PROUPDATE and FASTRECOVERY folders 5.disconnect your psp from the pc 6.Go to the game category of your psp then go to the Memory Stick and press X 7.Find the program that has a PRO Update background and press X to launch it 8.After you launched it you have to wait about 3-4 seconds and then a menu will come up.Press X. 9.Some files will be installed on the system. When that is done it will say "Press X to start the CFW".You press X. 10.Your psp will reboot and BAM you have custom firmware on your PSP! 11.Everytime your psp shut's down (not standby mode) you have to launch the fast recovery program.and you will be back to the cfw!

I believe its not hard to do it darius.

virgin psp 1001 with ofw 6.39 only! (that means first timer like me) to check:

0. turn on your psp go to system settings > system information > if system software 6.39 proceed to next step. if not, you need to do your homework like i did and most of all read.

1. download 639PRO-B10.fix1.rar. extract rar file.

files are: /PSP folder/game/ cipl_flasher folder
/ proupdate folder
/ fastrecovery folder
/sdk folder /seplugins folder /credit.txt

2.plug psp to computer(make sure memorystick is in) and turn it on. your psp will be in usb mode.

you will see likely this (this is your psp directory):

removable disk(e):/mproot folder

/music folder /picture folder /psp folder/game/COPY AND PASTE folders cipl_flasher, proupdate and fastrecovery in here.
3. press "O" button on your psp to unplug your psp from your computer.

4. turn on your psp.

5. go to game icon and click the memorystick icon.

6. you'll see cipl flasher for pro-b icon and pro-update icon and a corrupted data

7. click the proupdate icon only and follow instruction and wait.

8. then click cipl flasher and follow instruction and wait.

9. you have succesfully done your homework.

10. go again to your psp system settings > system information > it should say: 6.39 pro-b10.

11. so what now!?

12. read "Comment by piotrekh...@gmail.com, Dec 4 (3 days ago)" and dont forget to thank the wonderful people for helping like you ...enjoy!

Comment by randqalan@yahoo.com, Dec 8, 2011

The above will work for all PRO for 1G and 2G models BTW Just match the OFW with PRO and follow the instruction :)

@parehasn... If they perform a full uninstall of any CFW or modifications there shouldnt be any signs of the PSP being modded. There might be some signs of modding if they leave some unoficial files on the PSP's internal Flash.

@wolfma... You can downgrade to the OFW you got your PSP with using a proper downgrader. You need 6.20 or higher OFW to install PRO. You wont be able to install it on 6.0 .

I was actually looking to buy a custom 2001 from pandorasales pre-installed with 5.00M33-6, but I was afraid that the newer games would be incapable of playing on it, and I would rather have a new system vs used.

Hi i am using PSP 1000 version and I have successfully updated version 6.60 update and I have checked my version it saids 6.60 pro-810 and the patch is successful as it was mentioned. But I have installed Ridge_Racer?_USA_PSP-Dynarox from the link http://clementpspdownload.blogspot.com/2011/11/ridge-racer-mediafire-links-7zip470mb.html and unzipped it in my computer and send it in game directory in the mem stick pro duo, when I open it with my psp it said "corrupted data" and also several games. My point is the games from the link are really all corrupted or is the hack unsuccessful or my psp has problems.Plz enlighten me. My psp was bought from japan and yes it is japanese.

Comment by piotrekhenry, Dec 15, 2011

@ SLIboy If it is a .iso file you need to put it in /ISO/ folder on the root of your MS not in /PSP/GAME/. If it's an unencrypted EBOOT - it will probably not work on your PSP since each PSN downloaded EBOOT is signed for one device only.

vincent procfw is an amazing custom firmware but you should stay 6.39 ME-5. ME cfw is the best solution for the PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 and for the PSP 3000 and PSPgo the best solution is the procfw.

you are not supposed to put the folders in PSP\GAME\UPDATE.

you are supposed to put them in PSP\GAME

yea you supposed to put the EBOOT.PBP in PSP/GAME/UPDATE(you make this folder) then you put the 6.39 EBOOT.PBP on the UPDATE folder,go to Game, memory stick, then launch the update

If you downloaded .iso files make sure they are PSP games. you need to put them in the /ISO/ folder on the root of your MS (you can format your MS or create the folder yourself) not in /PSP/GAME/.

@adred...@yahoo.com It's The ISO, Get It Patched...

@wolfmanc...@gmail.com CXMB... You can google it, but you need to get the one for your firmware version, same for the themes. i.e. 6.20 CTF Themes are not compatible with the 6.60 CFW with CXMB

@crisc...@gmail.com That Happened To Me Once On My PSP 1000 (6.35 Pro-B10 Fix 1 At The Time). When I Plugged In My PSP To The Mac My Friend Had And Set It To USB Mode, It ed Up My Memory Stick. when i runing the update it say does not support your FW is what is mean? Please help me!thx

Comment by piotrekhenry, Jan 4, 2012

@laualvin...@hotmail.com You neet to update your original firmware to 6.20,6.35,6.39 or 6.60 (your choice which one) and install a matching CFW afterwards.

Comment by RSL4Lif...@gmail.com, Jan 5, 2012

I need some help please. I recently pulled out my original PSP 1g after about a year, It had version 6.20 from the last time I did and update. I installed version 6.60 but then later found that I could not play games from the internet with that firmware. So I downgraded back to version 6.20 but then when I go to play the games it now says I need version 6.31 or higher. Where do I find that firmware so that I can download it? The stuff I have found says corrupt file when I load it. I am not a hacker and so it takes me a bit to understand things, so please keep it as simple as possible please. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Comment by wolfmanc...@gmail.com, Jan 5, 2012

google the firmware

Comment by piotrekhenry, Jan 6, 2012

@RSL4Lif...@gmail.com Higher version firmware save files usually dont work with lower firmwares (after downgrading). You should stay with 6.20. Enabling "Use version.txt" in the recovery menu could help your problem since it should show your firmware as 9.90 afterwards (or any other you will define in "version.txt").

Comment by ummjamme...@gmail.com, Jan 8, 2012

What do I do with seplugin folder? Installed the Pro CFW fine and it works but left the seplugin and sdk folder off the card.

Comment by piotrekhenry, Jan 8, 2012

sdk (software developement kit) is for developers only. You can put the /seplugins/ folder on the root of your MS if your planing to use additional plugins for your CFW. If not - you dont need it as well.

Comment by piotrekhenry, Jan 17, 2012

1. Did you match the PRO version with your OFW version (6.60)? 2. Did you install any other CFW before? If yes did you uninstall it? Did you use additional plugins? Did you disable or remove them ? Plugins compatibile with 6.39 usually wont be compatibile with 6.60. 3. Did you check you PSP's model with PSP ident? What is it? (for example My PSP 3004 is 03g model). 4. Is your MS original? Does it support Magic Gate? 5. Did you install the CIPL flasher ?

dear sir(or whatever)pls tell me how to install cxmb themes on psp 660 pro b9 pls pls pls

Comment by piotrekhenry, Jan 18, 2012

You need to find a CXMB plugin for 6.60 CFW and 6.60 custom themes. Everything else should be provided in ReadMe? files attached to the plugin and themes.

if you find an incomatibile CXMB plugin it may prevent your PSP from booting. In that case you neet so start your PSP without your MS.

Yes you can install PRO on PSP 100x. Did you uninstall your previous CFW first? Did you disable/delete all your 5.50 plugins ? They wont be compatibile with 6.60 and can interefere with the instalation process. Did you match the PRO CFW version with your OFW ?

I'm using OFW 6.60 and CFW PRO-B10 fix 1. But can run only iso, any eboot file appears as corrupted data, no matter if it's on the right place (PSP/GAMES/ANYNAME/EBOOT.PBP). And what's even more strange, the same eboot files that worked before (6.35 and PRO-B3, I guess) now stop working. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Comment by piotrekhenry, Jan 27, 2012

PSN Eboot's get "installed" and signed for ONE particular PSP. These kind of eboot's wont work on another PSP. Some Homebrew Eboots might simply not be compatibile with the latest CFW. PSX/PSONE images converted to eboot's might not be patched or can be faultly converted.

THE UPDATE COULD NOT BE STARTED-(DRNFFFFFFCD). Any suggestions? Thanks

Comment by piotrekhenry, Feb 11, 2012

I encountered something like this before. You need to get yourself a MMS and a pandora, run the 5.50 or (better) 5.00 m33-6 from the pandora menu and there you'll have some nand and index keys recovery options - you need to fix those. After you fix those the should be no more peoblems with updateing to 6.60OFW. If you dont know how to od it properly I strongly recoment leavint this for someone that already did it.

Your Nand keys are corrupted. You should use the Pandora battery and a MMS with 5.00m33-6 installer to reapir the Nand keys and region keys as well as your Mac adresses.

hi guys, i gave somebody my new psp 3004pb 6.39 to help me mod for me, he said he was not successful with it so when i collected it back, i found prometheus in the games menu and another chinese game, i also found some games saved data under the saved data utility. The promestheus writes corrupt data if i try to run it. My question is that how do i clear these leftover files (from the first attempt to mod it) because i dont want them interfering with my procfw installation? Will just formatting the memory card & restoring default setting be enough? Could there be some left over files in the internal memory that could interfere with the procfw installation? My psp still runs ofw 6.39. Am a complete newcomer when it comes to psp.

Every time I make a backup of my UMD I: 1) Press the Select button and "USB DEVICE" set "UMD Disc"; 2) Insert the UMD into the console and connect to the computer; 3) Copy the ISO to your Desktop; 4) Disconnect your PSP and press select "USB DEVICE" set "Memory Stick"; 5) Connect the console to the computer and move the game into the ISO folder on the Memory Stick.

Would not it be easier to create a command that copies the contents of ISO UMD in the Memory Stick directly from the console?

Hey the program works great, but I have a few legit UMD's and the PSP can no longer read them. Haven't dropped the PSP and taken pretty good care of it. I haven't used a UMD since December though, so not sure if the event is related to the software. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi there, I'm a total Noob and confused, would be greatful for some help please.

1. I have a PSP Go, its running software 6.35.

My questions.

1. Do I need to upgrade this to 6.60 before I do anything? 2. Once I have downloaded and installed the appropriate CFW, will the solution be permanent? 3. I'm assuming that the best and latest CFW to use is something called Pro B10? Whats this FIX 1 version I'm hearing about, which one shall i use?

Any help greatfully recieved! :-)

Comment by download...@gmail.com, Mar 25, 2012

Ok mister uzyta . So : Answers in your questions: 1.Yes you NEED to install firmware 6.60 before doing anything. 2.On 6.60 there is no way to make the PRO-B10 permanent. There's a way on firmware 6.20 but it is very dangerous and i honestly dont recommend it.I recommend you to update to 6.60 and install 6.60 PRO-B10. DONT USE THE CIPL FLASHER ON THE PSP GO!!!!! 3.Yes Pro-B10 is the BEST CFW right now.FIX 1 is basically PR0-B10 just with a fix.I recommend PRO-B10 FIX1.

Hi, thanks for that.

I did actually manage to work it out just after my post, but the one difference is that I left it on 6.35 and Pro-B10 fix1. It all seems to be working perfectly, just wondering if I would have got anything extra by upgrading to 6.60? If so, can i just go ahead and apply the upgrade?

Many thanks once again, much appreciated.

Comment by download...@gmail.com, Mar 26, 2012

there's no additional extra on 6.60 actually. If you have PRO-B10 on firmware 6.35 then its good. There's absolutely NO NEED to upgrade to firmware 6.60.

Hello

I have a psp slim 3004 PB and I have cfw 6.39 PRO-B6. It has been a long time that I didnt touch my psp. I tried to copy a game to my psp but it didnt work it says I need to upgrade?SO I am not sure anymore what to do or if I need to upgrade. Do i need to install 6.39 PRo-B10 or 6.60 Pro-B10?

I upgrade like I installed the first time? DO I lose any of my save games? Thank you in advance!!

Hey, guys, I'm running CFW 6.60 ME v1.7 here (on a PSP 1001) and would like to know if trying to temporarily flash PRO-B10 without using C-IPL Flasher ("temporary" install) would fuck my PSP up? The reason I'm doing this is to get the best of both worlds:

6.60 ME v1.7 = Great compatibility with homebrew and apps. ISO/CSO launcher has some strict standards. 6.60 PRO-B10 = Wide range of ISO/CSO games it can handle. Doesn't give a shit-- consumes all. Homebrew... not so much.

Basically, I don't like being limited in what games I can and cannot play. From what I know, it is possible to run PRO-B9 with ME v1.4, so why would trying to run PRO-B10 while on ME v1.7 be any different? Thanks in advance for any reply, just want to be somewhat sure about myself before running headlong into what may brick my PSP.

P.S. I don't own a Pandora Battery... So bricking is not an option since I don't want to sacrifice my own battery.

I'm sure by the time Pro-C Online gets released that it would have pretty much on par compatibility homebrew wise with ME by then with leda and the rest of the non working being compatible by then.

I guess it's all about you guys being patent and waiting for the first build of PRO-C when it's out of Beta.

I believe that PRO CFW is going to make it as Coldbird, Vicious Flame & Neri0n won't stop with PRO-C until it's perfected like the Minimum Edition is now.

It is believed that Minimum Edition 1.8 is codenamed Lightspeed Final which gives indication that it could be the very final version of it.

So, yeah I'd say for the moment grab ME 1.8 first before grabbing a PRO CFW if you were to Dual Boot your PSP.

With N0 finishing ME now I guess he is now free to help with the PRO side with CB & VF full time to get the Online PRO-C perfected on the other features side to make PRO a proper full featured edition version of 6.60 CFW?

I can see this Lightspeed Final thing as a positive to the PRO CFW and a perfected PRO CFW being on the horizon with this extra expertise of a full time 3 man team if the 1.8 being the final ME revision is 100% true because what would one of the most loved developers ne0rion have left to do if he has finished with his own CFW he shouldn't quit as along with Coldbird he is the best developer left right now after Dark Alex/Dark Alek was no more.

Comment by download...@gmail.com, Dec 6, 2011 1.connect your psp at your pc 2.navigate to the PSP folder and open it 3.navigate to the GAME folder and open it 4.In the GAME folder put the PROUPDATE and FASTRECOVERY folders (you should find these 2 from the '660PRO-B10.fix1.rar' file you can download under the "download" tab on this site - "download" tab is at the very top of this page) 5.disconnect your psp from the pc 6.Turn on the psp and go to the game category of your psp then go to the Memory Stick and press X 7.Find the program that has a PRO Update background and press X to launch it 8.After you launched it you have to wait about 3-4 seconds and then a menu will come up. Press X. 9.Some files will be installed on the system. When that is done it will say "Press X to start the CFW". You press X. 10.Your psp will reboot and BAM you have custom firmware on your PSP! 11.Everytime your psp shut's down (not standby mode) you have to launch the fast recovery program and you will be back to the cfw!

That should get the cfw all set.

Just to save some people some time:

Upgrade to 6.60 and install the CFW. 6.20 is not recommended because even though it has the permanent bootloader, it is not fully safe to use the permanent bootloader.
