Introduction

PrestOMIC is a bioinformatics program that is designed to present the results of a proteomic study in a user-friendly way on the internet. Given a list of possible proteins, a list of peptides actually found (with a mass spectrometer), and a few details about the experiment, and presto, you have a web site that anyone can browse!

Details

The program was developed on Fedora Core 5, using mostly Perl. The presentation layer is done, and the first site to use the data can be found at http://foster.nce.ubc.ca/bee/.

This is the code that is available as prestomic-1.0.tar.gz in the Downloads section.

However, in order to set up the database, we had to come up with a schema, and we had to load the data into the database. The scripts (and schema) to do this are not in prestomic-1.0; we're trying to get them ready as fast as we can!
