issue 85 (Yaesu CAT-Support) commented on by mcclements   -   We might add Yaesu support at some point. I have recently acquired a FT-2000, so that will help. I have to question your statement about the FT-950 and FT-2000 having IF output though. Neither come delivered from the factory with IF output ports, you must buy or build an optional (non-Yaesu) mixer board to plug into the DMU port in the radio. I am writing this here because I don't want anyone to be mislead that these radios have what is needed from the factory to use PowerSDR/IF Stage.

issue 81 (Monitored CW signal varies position on pan display as differ...) commented on by mcclements   -   Are you connecting directly to the K3 from PowerSDR/IF Stage? Or are you using LP-Bridge? You cannot use the Ham Radio Deluxe option to connect to the K3 because you will not have IF Offset tracking in that case. Also, would this happen to be just on the 6 meter band?

issue 91 (VFOA from PowerSDR doesn't tune external rig through HRD. ) commented on by mcclements   -   The s-meter and waterfall should always work regardless of the US Locale setting. Are you getting any sound from PowerSDR/IF Stage? I think you have soundcard configuration issue, when PowerSDR/IF receives the proper I/Q signals from your SDR board, you will have spectrum/s-meter, etc. Checkout the "Audio" tab in the PowerSDR/IF Stage "Setup" menu. Make sure the right soundcard, mixer and inputs are selected. You can download a stock version of PowerSDR from FlexRadio to check a version without PowerSDR/IF Stage changes to see if that works for you. Also if you can get other programs, such as WinRad to work, you can use the soundcard settings you come up with. Also, you can use the PowerSDR/IF Stage google group to get quicker responses. This is our issue tracking section which we use to keep notes about open problems, but we don't get notification when you send an update. Here is the link to our Google Group which we read daily, along with others that can help: http://groups.google.com/group/powersdr-if-stage?hl=en&pli=1 -Scott, WU2X

A solution could be to look wich local the client use and than change the . and , for decimal from US . to EU , that should work for Europa.

issue 96 (USB and LSB positions switched on 6 meters) commented on by cgatesman   -   I do not have a K3. The Swap I/Q should be checked, and the frequency should be at 48.000000. This is exactly what this option is for, and I haven't heard from anyone else that it's not working. If it really isn't working, we'll have to look into it when we have our hands on a K3, again. Perhaps you may want to check with some others on our group to see if it's working for anyone else. http://groups.google.com/group/powersdr-if-stage

issue 96 (USB and LSB positions switched on 6 meters) commented on by tim-tay...@comcast.net   -   I am not using LP-Bridge with 1.19.02. Checking or unchecking the swap I/Q box has no effect on the placement of the sideband. However, using cw as the test, unchecking the box (ie no swap) gives the correct cw sideband, offset and carrier freq. Can you try it with your K3?

There is an option to Swap I/Q Channels under SetupIF->IF Frequencies. This should get enabled automatically, when you select the K3 as your connecting rig.

issue 96 (USB and LSB positions switched on 6 meters) reported by tim-tay...@comcast.net   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1.Tune to any 6 meter freq 2.Transmit in USB. The signal will be displayed at the correct center freq except that the USB signal will be below the center freq. Repeat with LSB. The LSB signal will be on the upper side of the center freq. 3. CW (lower and upper) work as expected. Center freq and offset are correct. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Expect to see USB to the right of the center freq and LSB to the left of the center freq. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? This happens on 1.19.02 and 0.92. Using XP SP3 Please provide any additional information below. The may be a clarification to bug #84. Center frequencies seem to be correct.

When this happens, it can not be restarted as COM3 is still owned by the dead process. Clicking the End Process Task Manager button does not kill the process. One has to reboot to recover the system.

The actual signals do in fact come out the IF output jack of the K3, where a SDR board like LP-PAN convert its it into an I/Q signal that is sent to the soundcard. PowerSDR picks up the signal by reading a digital stream in from the soundcard.

Is it obtained by querying the K3's IF (buffer maybe) using CAT commands, data comes back on RS-232, processed, passed to soundcard -or- data arrives on soundcard input from another hardware device such as LP-PAN which receives RF directly from the K3's IF output jack. If the latter, it would explain why I see nothing on the panadapter display. Over.

Band selection, mode selection and frequency scrolling are working great. In this regard the software and the K3 stay nicely in sync regardless of which is being adjusted. But I see nothing on the panadapter display except for a sharp tone 1500Hz off center freq (and a couple of weak harmonics) that follows the tuning everywhere I go. The tone does shift between upper and lower sideband however as the mode is changed. Am I missing another critical piece of equipment or a connection perhaps? I'm under the impression that the serial connection to the K3 has this all covered? Thanks and Cheers, Dirk N6SVC

The Database.xml and DatabaseIF.xml files. You will then have to make a few selections from scratch to make this work - choose the SDR-1000 Rig. After the wizard ends, go into the setup menu under general and check the "Receive Only" box. Rig Type cannot be changed when PowerSDR isn't in standby. You have to press the "Power" button on the upper left corner of PowerSDR to turn it "off" before you can make changes.

issue 92 (Window 2000 and v19.0.2) commented on by mcclements   -   You should check the FlexRadio reflector to confirm this. If .NET 3.5 is not supported on Windows 2000, then PowerSDR/IF 1.19.0.x will not run on Windows 2000.

issue 91 (2nd virtual RX) commented on by mcclements   -   Perhaps this is a regional setting issue, I am not sure. In your language setup, are you using "," as separators for numbers? Try using a US-English locale, including using "." as separators.

issue 92 (Window 2000 and v19.0.2) reported by willysch...@swissmail.com   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1.On installation V19.0.2 is asking for NET Framework 3.5 but this will not run on Windows 2000. 2. 3. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Is there a way to run v19.0.2 with windows 2000 OS. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Please provide any additional information below.

issue 89 (PowerSDR-IF v1.19.0.2 installer hangs with message ....the i...) commented on by peewog...@charter.net   -   Yes, using US locale and US decimal point in Windows Region settings. Tried the install of v1.19.0.2 on my desktop computer and it installed to completion. Hangs on the laptop install only apparently. Have not connected the K3 so far to either computer. On the desktop computer, in the SetupIF child window, the rig type defaults to Elecraft K3 and the RX2 meter is displayed. Another rig type can be selected from the dropdown list if so desired. On the laptop computer, in the setupIF child window, the rig type defaults to Kenwood TS-940S, no RX2 meter, and the rig type cannot be changed. The dropdown list displays the other rigs but the selection is stuck on the Kenwood TS-940S. Can this be the result of the interrupted installation? Thanks, Dirk

issue 91 (2nd virtual RX) commented on by dg...@blackwing.eu   -   I use an IF tap, wich goes out of the FT-950 into a "Funkamateur FT950/FT950 SDR-Board" from there to the Soundcard. This is working fine for me. I start HRD5 and then HRD5 ist starting the CAT on Com1. This is also working without any problems. I can use all HRD features like setting the mode, att, preamp, notch, tuning frequency and so on. PowerSDR get the right frequency from HRD5. I can change the mode in PowerSDR and the FT-950 is changing the mode simultaneous. Until here all is ok. But if I change the VFO A frequency PowerSDR show the tuning but in HRD5 and in FT-950 nothing is tuning and also on switching the bands 80 > 40 > etc. I only see short the 7 for 40m or a 3 for 80m on the HRD display but HRD5 comes back immediately with the old frequncy without canging it. Sometimes I get on VFO A a frequncy 1,000 000 if I tried to tune with PowerSDR, after tuning with HRD5 or VFO knob of the FT-950 PowerSDR get the right frequncy back. Because the mode change works fine I think it only could be a problem between the communication between PowerSDR & HRD5. 73 Chris
