PolyQ began as a study of Human (Homo Sapiens) protein sequences contained within the NCBI Non-Redundant database (NCBI NR), that contain glutamine (denoted by the letter Q) amino acid repeats. In particular we studied glutamine repeats chains >7 repeated Q amino acids in length, and mapped PFAM domains against them. We have developed a web interface to the data to allow other research to easily search & perform their own analysis.
