Polinux is a distribution created to diffuse GNU/Linux among the Politecnico di Milano students. Started as Polibuntu, it now has a new name and a new interest between its developers; its aim is to include free and open source software, as a valid alternative for closed source software.

It is developed by POuL (http://www.poul.org), Politecnico Open unix Labs.
