PockeTwit has some unusual UI concepts.

Introduction

I didn't want the iphone folks to have all the fun, so PockeTwit doesn't follow all the usual windows mobile UI conventions.

Kinetic List

The main list implements "kinetic scrolling". You can drag your finger across the screen and the page follows along, as if you were pushing the content around. If you lift your finger while the screen is moving, it will continue to move for some time, as if you "threw" the content in that direction.

Side Menus

Action menus are located to the sides of the main menu. So if you drag the list to the left or right, you will see the a menu of actions beside the list.

The left menu items are "global" and do not reference a specific tweet. This includes updating your status, switching timelines, etc.

The right menu items relate to a specific tweet. Select a tweet from the list, then scroll to the right menu and choose the action you want to perform on that tweet.

There is also a "context menu" that pops-up when double-tapping an item or using the d-pad to click an item. This contains links "inside" the item, like @reply names, html links, and the ability to display the item full-screen.

It's a sweet UI, love it but still trying to get used to it cause sometimes I have trouble getting to the menus or scrolling through the tweets but I think it's more me than the program.

Awesome awesome awesome program!!

Now if only the rest of my Windows Mobile interface used this UI.. :)

I second ahbristol's comment. pocketwit has actually spoiled me when it comes to other apps. I keep expecting them to scroll as smoothly using touch as Pocketwit does. Keep up the great work. Any everyone... point your favorite developer to check out this UI so they can get the 'fever' :)

You guys should get a new microsoft tag to make it easy to download the app from the mobile phone

Digging the UI, but one question. The side menus have numbers but I can't access them that way with my Samsung BlackJack2?. Maybe it's because the numbers are integrated with the QWERTY keyboard on my phone. Otherwise it seems to be working very well!

"so PockeTwit? doesn't follow all the usual windows mobile UI conventions"

You say that like it's a bad thing !

Windows mobile conventions are what drags the platform down. Hurrah for someone to see beyond the banal and barely usable.

Just installed this app on a motoQ9c works great! yurself@twitter.com

WARNING this is a very addicting app! Works smoothly on my HTC Universal running WM6 and has all the features I couldn't find in desktop Twitter widget.

Only fault I have found so far is that it has made Twitter even more addicting!

Wow! Blends seamlessly in with the UI on my HTC Touch Pro!

After being so bummed about the last Twitter client I downloaded... Looking at a truncated list of plain text... I was truly surprised by Pocketwit. Clean, smooth, well programed little app. Good job!

damn super awesome GUI! never even knew this was possible for Winblows Mobile! they should hire you to totally rewrite the mobile gui / interaction, WAAAAY better! one thing tho: where can i disable something to prevent the menu from sliding away again? that's not really handy since we don't have multi-touch!

Just wanted to add my pennies worth, great app, can't beleive it has taken so long to find. Loving the UI, as someone else mentioned Windows Mobile twit apps were somwhat stagnant! Hopefully with Windows 7 mobile in the offing this sort of smooth app will be commonplace.

Super app, just super. Thank you for your hard work and monumental effort in brining it to the public

Can't stop playing around with this application... and i don't even like twitter.. ^^ would love to see this kind of UI in other apps, too.

WM6.5 brings in gesture/flick support, so the kinetic list isn't so uncommon (or, won't be once more apps for 6.5 are released). Of course, the side menus remain unconventional, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
