PocketGuitar is a virtual guitar for iPhone and iPod touch. You can even have guitar sessions with the songs in your iPod!
Installation
You need a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch. Google it if you don't now what it means. It will void your warranty, so do it at your own risk. If you're not sure what you are doing, please wait until the "iPhone 2.0" which will support official native apps.
Launch Installer, choose "Sources" and add http://podmap.net/apps to your repositories.
PocketGuitar is now included in ModMyiFone.com Community Source under "Toys" category. If you can't find it, upgrade "Community Sources" package and make sure you have "ModMyiFone.com" source in "Sources" tab.

- The settings are now stored into disk.
- Re-implemented exctract_samples script in C so that it no longer requires BSD subsystem.
0.1 (19 Jan 2008)
- First release
Roadmap
0.4
- Open tuning
- Scrollable fretboard, to make higher frets available
- MIDI output via RTP - http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~lazzaro/rtpmidi/
1.0
- iPhone OS 2.0 support (and free distribution through the AppStore)
Future Ideas
- Make volume bar optional, to avoid changing the volume accidentially
- "Auto-Pluck" mode option - the string is plucked when you touch it on the fretboard. It would be less realistic compared to a real guitar, but you'll be able to play it with one hand and it will help you play faster phrases more accurately.
- Reverb and Chorus effecters
- Make plucking less sensitive (maybe as an option) - Instead of plucking when the string is touched, don't let it plucked until the finger is dragged.
- Tremolo or vibrato using accelerometer
