PLatform ARena: is a 2D Multiplayer Shooting Game

PlAr is a Platform Arena. It is a Multiplayer scrolling game. In the gameplay the characters move through a scrolling level, plus you can fight with other humans! ..the idea is to play in the 2D style against other humans!

At the moment this is a beta version, future releases will have a level editor and a player editor,and a better gameplay feature, this is just a CONNECT'N'SHOOT version!

The engine of the game is very flexible and a lot of improvements can be easily done, if you think you can help in the design side or in the developement side, please contact me now!

Levels

In this beta version there is only a Level (Level0). It contains three respawn points, and some elevators.

Characters

You can choose to play with three different characters, they can all run and jump and fire, in the 2d platform*s, plus each of one have a personalized special skills that you activate with the ALT or ALT GR key.

Player	Description	Features
Squeak	Is a duck	As a special skill he create a bunch of stupid ducks. that randomly attack enemies ...very effective!
Queen	is a human	as a special skill can jumps high with his pogo.
KittyCat	is a Ninja cat	can hidden himself as special skill

They all have an initial energy of 100 points that goes down when they are shooted and can be increased collecting the aid's pack in the level.

Guns

During the game you can choose from three guns, using 1,2 and 3 keys, playing you can collect ammo reloader. To aim and fire you can use the mouse pointer and click to fire!

Gameplay

At the moment this is a beta version of the multiplayer game, and the keylist is fixed, but is choosen to be the more confortable as possible:

You may notice the graphics is really poor compared to the usual graphics game..well..you can help me, just email me!

Play

You should just dubleclick the jar file! (or rightclick->Execute with JAVA) the jar file.

If it does not work, you can try manually and run from the console:

java -jar plarServer.jar # to run the Server
java -jar plarClient.jar # to run the Client

Build

Please read src/README.txt to download JBox2D You can use ant to compile the project: ant all # build the project and te jar and zip files ant build # just compile java files ant server # run the server ant client # run the client
