The future of the future

The PIWI developers agreed that Apache is the best place for PIWI. Whenever PIWI is ready, we will submit the ApacheProposal for the Incubator. Till then we try to adapt as many processes from a regular Apache Project as possible.

How does a feature wish become implemented

Everytime a release has been done, one of the project owners or committers writes an e-mail with his thoughts to the mailinglist. Everybody of the comitters is invited to add his/her thoughts to this mail. Discussion and a Vote decides whats implemented and what have to wait. Features which become true will be removed from this list and added as an issue to the issue tracker.

• Allow other Input-Sources than PIWI-XML
• Improve Connector-Framework for a better plattform indenpendence and more security
• Create a fancy Javascript Editor for PIWI XML Pages
• Create a fancy Javascript Editor for PIWI Site XML
• Write an own PDF implementation
• Support Creative Commons out of the Box. Maybe add an Transformation which can be included easily in each PIWI Page.
• Provide some screencast tutorials

• Add a hessian serializer
• Enable Hessian Webmethods
• Integrate Shindig
• Implement commandline piwit (piwi transform). Should take an input file of your choice and render it to an output file of your choice. Needs a split of the current index.php

Planned for the next release (PIWI 0.1.0)

• Dependency injection with Beanfactory
• Add more log output in the piwi classes were necessary

If you would like to contribute source code, please create an Issue and add your patch there. Additonally let us know about your work at the mailinglist.

If you are continually contributing and we feel that you have the same high interest in PIWI as we have, we gladly grant you committer access to our repository.

We are really looking for help here

We are javascript idiots. We have not a clue about it. But we really would like to have a cool editor for piwi files. We have several ideas about this and would gladly tell you at the mailinglist. So, if you are a javascript nerd and have some sparetime, please let us know :-)
