A set of pointers on how to install Pida on Windows

The Gtk+ Runtime

Just download and install the latest Gtk+/Win32 Runtime Environment Installer.

http://gladewin32.sourceforge.net/

Python

Download and install the latest Python installer for windows.

http://www.python.org/download/

The PyGtk Runtime

This is split in three files: pycairo, pygobject, and pygtk. Download and install all of three files.

  1. http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/binaries/win32/pycairo/
  2. http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/binaries/win32/pygobject/
  3. http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/binaries/win32/pygtk/

The Moo editor

There is only available an unofficial build, created by the Medit author itself, for win32:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mooedit/medit-pida-0.8.2.zip

This might work:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mooedit/moo-0.8.2.win32.exe

Kiwi

Setuptools

http://cheeseshop.python.org/pypi/setuptools/#windows

Optional Plugins

If you want a python class browser, for browsing your source code fast, install:

http://bicyclerepair.sourceforge.net/

If you want Pida to recognize some usual mistakes, install:

http://divmod.org/projects/pyflakes

I am new in this plataform, I want to start the building of a new site for a proyect in my university and I would like to try Prone. PIDA sounds to me as a tool like an IDE that will help me to do development (something that I am not sure) wether it will work in window or will complete integrate with others resource of plone. So please, if any body that coul read this message can give me some suggestion about "How start setting all my development environment to build a Website" I will appretiated that He/she can email me any instructions to may email address lindaenildavh@hotmail.com. Mainly, if could give me a link that works where I can find a download of PIDA for windows XP.

To be able to "import moo":

copy moo.pyd, libmoo.dll and libxml2-2.dll to Python25\Lib (the dlls are in medit\bin, the pyd deep inside the plugins directory of medit)
