Phylr is an initial implementation of the search functionality described in the PhyloWS standard for accessing phylogenetic information. Phylr adapts the OCLC SRU server to provide a general toolkit that allows searching over phylogenetic data stored in the Lucene indexing system. We are extending Phylr to work with other back-end indexing systems, including relational databases.

Phylr is still in pre-alpha status. It is a proof of concept, and does not yet fully conform to the PhyloWS specification.
