CDA - Community Data Access is a community project that allows to fetch data in various formats from Pentaho BI platform. It will be accessed by simple url calls and support the following datasources:

• SQL
• MDX
• Metadata
• Kettle
• etc.
• Compositions of the above

The last item is very important for me. Several times I wanted to join a sql query with a mondrian query and use it for a single report. This is just a simple use case amongst many others.

It will support multiple outputs:

• JSON
• XML
• CSV
• XLS
• HTML visual mode
